Went and saw The Long Walk. I was hoping Mark Hamill would have a bigger part, but the main cast was great and really shine in their roles. I’m too far away from my last read of the novel to nitpick anything, it overall felt very true to the spirit of the book even with the changes they made.

Been a while, but who's ready for a new episode of Schumacast on Monday?

Glad to see someone answered my main question. I’m not thrilled, but I get it.

Oh yeah that looks super fun

Yeah seems pretty deliberate to start us with something that feels like a kids movie but then slowly show how things aren’t as sweet and wonderful as they might seem.

Saw a cyber truck leaving the neighborhood with a matte black paint job. Couldn’t help but assume it was either to cover up some graffiti or an attempt to shield themselves from it.

So I really thought this week’s Handmaid’s Tale was the finale so when it got to the end I was a little disappointed. Glad I went looking for behind the scenes stuff so I could see it’s not done yet.

It struck a lot of the same notes as the first Guardians did for me, though obviously not in the exact same way. I probably won’t watch it repeatedly, but I’m super glad I saw it when I did.

I’m going to an early show tomorrow. Trying not to get my hopes up too high but all the praise I’ve seen so far has me looking forward to it.

Listening to people who are not diehards discussing Interview with a Vampire and Bram Stoker’s Dracula “oh yeah, it was Brad Pitt in that movie!” Cracking me up.

My main pet peeve is calling something a season when it ends on a cliffhanger with nothing resolved. I’d prefer they call it part 1. But beyond the personal shock I felt about episode 1, I’ve enjoyed it so far.

I loved that movie so much as a kid.

I’ve been watching Spring Baking Championship and I’m convinced the closed captioning is AI generated. Sometimes the bakers run their words together and it’s picking something that it does sound like they are saying but a human editor would easily be able to tell that wasn’t what they said.

Watched A Complete Unknown with Jak. It was hard for him to not notice the inaccuracies but we both enjoyed Chalamet’s performance. It also made me want to go listen to Highway 61 Revisited again so if it does that for enough people it’s an absolute win.

You also have the right to say “I can’t help you right now” if you are overwhelmed by it all.

It is absolutely natural for you to feel that frustration and you’re not a bad person for feeling that way. We can try to help and want the best for people but it is ultimately up to them to make the necessary changes in their lives.

Maybe not a ton but also not unheard of. My mom’s father was half German.

Brought J to urgent care Friday for what ended up being a torn tendon in his finger. Apparently left with a free virus. 🤬 Here’s hoping it’s not Covid or the flu.

One of my absolute favorites, though you probably remember that.

I like that and also the individual presenters complimenting each nominee as well, it really makes it feel more like a proper tribute to craft and mutual appreciation rather than a contest.

Watched all of the Beatles Anthology and the films with my niece. It was great hearing her laugh at the parts that charmed me from the beginning. The end of the Anthology still brings tears to my eyes. I think part of it is how genuinely sad you can tell Ringo is about their end.
