Dodgy start, before settling into a good performance in the 1st half. 2nd half not so great. But overall a great result away from home after a tough European game.
Team could really do with a free midweek, though.

Celtic chat. Stattogeekery. European coefficient nonsense. Also exists on Kerrydale Street.

Today I learned that Dermot Desmond's son, Ross, is every bit the tadger that his father is.
21.11.2025 15:14 β π 23 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0An incredible finish, and completely unScottish.
I'm used to glorious failure, not unglorious victory.
And then there are the ones involving Scales and Hatate.
None of these incidents resulted in a red card. None of them were talked about endlessly as some form of injustice, despite being far more serious than the Butland one.
Funny that.
Way back in 2017 I made a post on twitter about how we often lose goals in batches in Europe; a result of our composure evaporating. Found it, and expanded upon it.
Here's how many times we've lost at least 2 goals in a 10 minute spell since 2010.
There are some great teams in there. But stil....
Well that could have gone better.
When we fall apart in Europe, we really fall apart in Europe.
Always good to beat them, regardless of how we do it.
Better team overall, but made hard work of the 2nd half. Got there in the end.
Night and day compared to how we've been playing for much of the season. More direct, and quicker.
Just need to keep it going for now, then reinforce in January.
Enjoyable first half, once we got over the early flat spell. Playing with much more energy and pace. Keep it going, please.
Nygren could score 40 a season for us if his finishing was in any way consistent.
MON's last competitive starting XI and bench from the 2005 Scottish Cup Final v tonight's lineup.
I know who I'd be putting my money on in a head to head.
Insert your own joke about some of the old team being in their 50s.
Disgraceful statement from the parasite in chief, Dermot Desmond.
Imperative that we keep the pressure on and clean house.
Canβt say Iβm sorry to see BR go. Should probably have walked at the end of the window. Donβt think anyone would have blamed him at that stage. Canβt say Iβm delighted at the thought of MON taking over but itβs only as interim manager.
Absolutely crucial we get the next appointment correct.
We're in a bit of a mess, aren't we?
Board guilty of gross mismanagement.
A squad riddled by injury and mediocrity.
A manager who, at best, isn't capable of getting the best from the players he does have available and, at worst, has chucked it.
Going nowhere as a club just now.
Dreadful performance.
We've scored just 11 goals in 8 league games this season, failing to score in 3 of those and, overall, 6 of our 14 games.
A board of incompetents and parasites, a manager who has chucked it, and a squad crammed with way too much dross.
Going to be a long season.
Celtic current status: Currently rummaging through the bins out the back of Asda trying to find an unbroken pack of Custard Creams.
01.09.2025 18:39 β π 14 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Losing 9-1 on aggregate, and 6-0 in one of the legs, are both Champions League Playoff round records.
Some going to break two records on one night.
You have to go back to 2004/05 to find a worse aggregate score in the final CL qualifier (then QR3) - Monaco beating Gorica 9-0.
Well that was fucking awful.
Plenty of blame to go around, starting with the money hoarding parasites in the boardroom.
BR can take his share as well. He looks like he has no idea how to change it when it's not working.
The players were awful too.
We're just so stale as a club, top to bottom.
We'll play one of the following in the CL Playoff.
Slovan Bratislava or Kairat
Basel
QarabaΔ or ShkΓ«ndija
Sturm Graz
Dynamo Kyiv or Pafos
The draw is on Monday. 1st leg on the 19th/20th August. Return leg a week later.
Basel and Sturm Graz.
All the other teams mentioned as potential opponents will need to qualify
That's decided at the draw.

FCSB - Steaua

25.05.2025 16:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Both Rijeka and Zagreb are winning 1-0 at HT. A Rijeka win is enough for us to be seeded in the playoff.
Copenhagen are in the driving seat in Denmark. They're 1-0 up at HT, while Midtjylland are 1-1. Won't matter, though, if Rijeka win.
Could all change, though. Need Rijeka to see it through.
2. Copenhagen have a 1pt lead over Midtjylland going into the final game at 4pm.
Zagreb are level on points with Rijeka going into their final game, also at 4pm, but are behind on the H2H. If Rijeka win, they win the title.
Interesting 3 way battle in Croatia, as Hadjuk Split are only 2pts back.
1. Ferencvaros won the Hungarian league yesterday.
If Copenhagen and Dinamo Zagreb win their respective leagues later today we'll be unseeded for the CL playoff UNLESS one of the teams ranked above us is knocked out in QR2 of qualifying.
If either fail to win their league, we'll be seeded.
Of course, Rijeka lost their game against Hadjuk Split, meaning the Croatian league goes to the final game next weekend.
For Zagreb to win the league they must better Rijeka's result. Even that might not be enough. If they draw, Rijeka lose, and Hadjuk win, Hadjuk would take the title on H2H.
It's decided by head to head. But it only seems to be used, if needed, to decide on the champion once all games have been played. Until then it seems to go by goal difference, goals scored, etc.
Rijeka would win a direct head to head between the two. So they need only 3 more points.
