So far, everything Mr. Gerus has said (that I’ve read) makes sense. Yeah, we need to hold the politicians’ feet to the fire, but we also need to cut this guy some slack.

I am very impressed with your work Sam, and I am so sorry you councillors are having to manage the extra load of “office politics” on top of everything else. Please stay the course sir. Surely that part of the job can’t get much worse.

To be fair, why don’t we test the idea of strong mayor powers by giving Andy and Timmy the summer off and letting a revolving door at the Ecology Action Centre, or maybe even just its coffee machine, look after strong leadership while HRM councillors, staff and MLAs do their jobs.

It’s impossible to keep up with all the scathing appraisals and the poor premier and mayor’s dissatisfaction with the province’s laws surrounding HRM’s existence, and what must have been a dumpster fire of campaign promises that Andy didn’t know he couldn’t deliver. Did I mention how tiring this is?
