Found this stone loach the other day when in the river, they have a very rounded tail fin and really slimy to the touch much like a tench.

The absolute stars of my UK native marine tank however our my Montagu's Blennies. I have three with the biggest one I've named Elvis. They are so cheeky and always come to see what I'm doing when I enter the office. Quickly becoming a favourite fish of mine.

One of the things I had to be mindful of is which species would suit the tank so that meant the smaller the better and this two spotted goby is one of our smallest fish. Unlike other goby species they spend most of the time in midwater so great to watch swimming around.

I've really enjoyed my rockpool tank with the shannies being a great addition. I had hoped to have a leopard spot goby for it but were a bit tricky to track one down for it but I'll share over the next few days some of the other residents.

The Prussian or Gibel Carp is a species found across much of Europe and has started to appear in some UK lakes. Essentially a large goldfish they can hybridise with other species like Crucians effectively wiping out other Carassius genus.

One species that has been eradicated from Britain is the black bullhead catfish an American species released from the pet trade. I haven't seen any real proof they are still present but it wouldn't shock me if the odd one is still about.
