I often see with fish I.D that people will quote colour as absolute way to I.D fish species but fish change colour so rapidly, best you use it as a helpful marker but saying "it doesn't have red fins" doesn't mean its not a roach as is the case with this image of a roach with almost clear fins.

One thing Iβm keen to do film more European fish and I have plans to try for Vimba, Burbot and a few others this year. Iβm very tempted to visit some of the Spanish and Portuguese rivers for the various barbel species and endemics to.

I've only caught one red mullet a few years and had a handful of experiences of them on my cameras when filming on the south coast. they have two barbels under the chin which they use to find food hidden in the sand.
