I wrote a previous article about how Curry's "fun" warmups shots are just as important to his success as a player as his two-ball warmups or 100 3s in a row, the "serious" practice predominantly cited for his success.

I saw somewhere that Steve Kerr had four principles for his team: competitiveness, mindfulness, compassion, and joy.
I remember hearing that when Kerr took over, he looked at Steph and wanted to teach him a better way to play but not reign in the joy he played with.
Keeping joy/fun is vital.

We hear so much about European development and AAU basketball ruining basketball development in the United States. However, the examples often cherrypick the best examples from Europe to compare with the worst from the USA. There are other examples.

Likeโฆ as a coach, you are not developing a future nba player at 10 years old, but you can absolutely steer a kid away from the game forever at 10 yrs old. Thats heavy.

We spend so much time scouting players for the NBA draft & recruiting players for college, but how big is the actual difference between players beyond the can't miss players like Flagg?

Every coach has some experience, but is that experience generalizable to a new team? A new level? A different gender? Every research studies a topic in a narrow population. Is the study generalizable to a larger population? More complex environment?
