I too have seen one battle after another and while it is not the next great american epic or on the same level of other pta films like some have been saying, it’s a very good movie with a fascinating message about contemporary politics and what we lose in our pursuit of revolution. also funny!

I've written a fair amount about amazon/prime video. in my opinion there have been three phases: origins/prestige tv era, mass content manufacturing/ip buying, and now the third. my guess? investing in legacy orgs (nfl, mgm) and strategies (ad-supported tv) to attempt an old school studio structure

jennifer salke stepping down + getting full control of james bond is revealing some really facinating inner workings at amazon mgm. especially with legacy titles like the boys and bosch ending, they're seemingly phasing into their third content startegy since its inception

my go-to answer when people have asked what my dream job is has been "vanity fair writer in the 90s" for like 3 years now. I can't even watch sex and the city because carrie's rates depress me so much ($4 a word!)

anywho I'm too busy with another story to try and pitch this around rn but if anyone wants to pay me to write 1000 words on this let me know lmao. it would be called "severance has lost the (B) plot" and would be passionately read by 54 people probably

episodes like chikhai bardo feel much stronger when they're anomalies. having two episodes back-to-back that are singularly plotted dims the magic and also makes the audience feel like the wheels are spinning too much. b/c plots also have development, they're not just moments or set up

17.03.2025 22:03 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

the big issue I have with severence and a lot of other streaming shows (esp marvel shows) is they have no ability to maintain a b- or c-plot. last few episodes really confirmed this. think about how much happens on a procedural vs. the last two severence eps. everything is a-plot loaded

I used to work at niantic and while they let me do pretty advanced stuff for being a random 19 yr old it also uhh made me never want to work in video games again. after laying off their entire LA office a few years ago, this is just another blow
