It has the sickly sweet smell I remember from overcharging NiCd batteries for my RC car as a kid. I smell it and think “quick, unplug the charger before you start a fire”. I don’t know why you would want that in your lungs. Then again I don’t understand tobacco and weed either.

The Night Guest by @hildur.bsky.social . The audiobook read by @maryrobinettekowal.com was great for spooky October walks near the water last year. I think I’ll listen again and make it a new October tradition.

My first yard turtle of the year startled me a few weeks ago as I was getting into my car. Took me a few minutes to get it to move out from under the car and play ostrich in a bush so I could leave for work.

The shark is already a sort of muppet but it could be re-cast as Cookie Monster in scuba gear. Everyone who gets attacked is inexplicably swimming with a bag of cookies.

Either that or it’s all mass hysteria over something stupid like Gonzo or Big Bird doing the backstroke.
