A picture of my hand holding a tall boy can of Godzilla a PBR. Dominos Pizza is in the background. I don't know if a tall boy is big enough for big beer Friday, but I'll have 2 or 3 just to be safe

A photo of a field at dusk. Everything looks mostly grey. The grass in the field is dead. There is fog rolling out of the holler from the left. There are hills in the background and a few lights here and there from the two houses you can't see because of the fog. The whole photo feels gloomy

My Steam Deck's been borked all week and my partner's been reduced to playing Stardew without her mods, so prayers for her.

In my house, the bathroom and kitchen sinks are opposite each other, so I just remembered that turning the handles toward the driveway gets me hot water.

There can be real fun for players in Mos Eisley-style settings like this. I have played in games where players could bring anything and (most) people had a blast. It is also part of the charm of something like City State of the Invincible Overlord- a place where all the β€œmonsters” of the D&D live

One of my first library school papers was on this topic, but absolutely. Reading by sight and reading by listening have some really interesting differences but both are unquestionably forms of reading.

The Fulton Co library was at Love Yall this weekend signing new users up AND THEY HAD OUT OF STATE SIGNUPS ($40) OPEN.

I sprinted back to their table so fast. I think I accidentally yelled "I NEED SOMETHING OTHER THAN MY TENNESSEE LIBRARY PLEASE" at the poor librarian working.

A runner has to begin loop 4 by the 36 hour mark in order to continue. Neither Damian nor SΓ©bastien will finish loop 3 in time to begin loop 4; however, if they complete loop 3 within 40 hours they will be credited with a Fun Run. #BM100

I'll probably just grab a cheap one off marketplace and save up for a few months to get the one I want. 90%+ of what I play right now is Rimworld, and that's hardly GPU intensive

Transhumanism has been central to the mecha genre from its inception. Machines that take a form reminiscent of the human body and act as an extension of it, perhaps even a stand in for it. In our lived reality, you get machines like cars, tanks, fighter jets; shapes that are entirely non-human. They are machines and we are flesh. The separation is clear. But in fiction, you get a new body. The lines are blurred. You are connected to it and reliant on it to exist.

What sets mechsploitation apart from the traditional mecha genre is it takes the transhumanism of mecha and says β€œhow can we make this erotic AND horrible?” It’s a sexy-violent genre. One full of extreme BDSM, snuff imagery, and the exploitation of the trans body specifically. Forced feminization, utter domination of another, turning women into dolls.

In it, we see writers tackling loss of autonomy, the othering of the body and the self within the body, and the loss of one's own humanity. Pilots are wired to respond to violence as pleasure. The body is manipulated in ways that turn it into a completely different animal.

And then they cum, or whatever.

I wrote an informal essay on the Mechsploitation genre, as both a small history lesson but also diving in to what makes it sexy, horrible, and the most exciting science fiction genre of the 2020's. Read about it here:
