It could still happen if every company moved to solid state batteries immediately. However it is in its infancy right now, so that is doubtful. Plus the infrastructure for charging stations is still limited. Check back in 12 months and it may look better.

After power outages last summer due to intense storms I now have portable battery storage(750 watt hours) and (230 watts)portable solar. I'll have lights, TV (antenna), radio and cell phone if cell towers have power. ROI would take years but that was not the point of my purchase.
