Then, many episodes later, they're doing a flashback to Son talking with Dad about his thesis (which is not specified; a masters' is the minimum degree one needs to be a profiler in the US) and Son says, "C'mon, Dad. If you were gonna kill me, right now, how would you do it?"

Somehow Criminal 2 gets access to Dear Daddy's cell and is all menacing-threatening toward Son, at which point Dear Daddy uses ?something? to go all feral on Criminal 2 and stabs him, like, 58 baZILLION times in a frenzy.

So, I don't remember the plot as to why this happens and it's not important, anyway, but there's an episode where Son is visiting Dad at the psych hospital, a different criminal inmate gets out of his cell and the unit goes on lock-down.

(I should clarify that I mean Sheen plays the serial-killer dad NOT the copy-cat murderer.)

The murder is played by thee BRILLIANT Michael Sheen, who absolutely steals every scene he appears in. (Seriously, Sheen is the only reason to watch Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, with no disrespect meant toward the also-universally-fab Bill Nighy.)

Now I've passingly mentioned that I'm finally finishing out the show "Prodigal Son," in which the son of an infamous serial killer (23 known victims) becomes a profiler and catches a case where the murderer is copy-catting his dad's murders.
