Just finished this book. It's challenging - a chimera of memoir and academia - and I almost gave up during the introduction. (Read that last, after you've got a handle on the rest.) But what an interesting way to talk about comics! And life.
The story of Nora the kitten was the saddest part for me.

Democrats should be running ads attacking Stephen Miller and Russell Vought as unelected bureaucrats ruining America. They're villains right out of central casting with the charisma of reptiles, and in addition being called a puppet would piss Trump off.

The author sits in a chair, writing a postcard on a clipboard balanced on her knee. There is an anti-censorship poster in the background.
The postcard, which has the Mass Freedom to Read logo and urges the recipient to vote yes on βAn Act Regarding Free Expression (H.3594/S.2328)
It's #BannedBooksWeek!
Stopped by Next Chapter books in Quincy to write postcards to my local reps. If you're in town, stop in. They'll have cards all week and cover the postage!

We can't settle for Republicansβ promise of later negotiations. Because every time this Administration says something, they go back on their word.
If Republicans need Democratic votes, they need to keep health care premiums from skyrocketing for the American people.

"Authors & Cats" calendar. The cover features an AI-generated Mark Twain with a cat.
Saw this AI slop calendar for sale at my local Barnes and Noble and I am not happy about it.

Illustrated image divided into four panels, each showing a head of a bat with a text label. Top left: little guy, a regular looking back with a dark face and light colored fur, top right: little guy deluxe, a bat with a mask and large ears alongside a bat with a leaf shaped nose, bottom left: what is even going on here, a visored bat with a large forehead next to a bat with a large, wrinkly nose, bottom right: o hi doggie, a fruit bat with its tongue sticking out.
Contrary to popular belief, there are only four kinds of bats.

Screen cap of parodic version of William Blake's "The Tyger" that begins:
Tyger! Tyger! Burning bright
(Not sure if I spelled that right)
What immortal hand or eye
Could fashion such a stripy guy?
What the hammer that hath hewn it
Into such a chonky unit?
Did who made the lamb make thee,
Or an external franchisee?
