We can’t keep pretending our schools are “protected” when politicians ban drag shows and books but do nothing to stop guns from turning classrooms into war zones. This cartoon says it all: culture-war distractions won’t shield our kids from bullets.

Prayers without action are meaningless.

Children keep dying as Republicans and the President block gun reform—clinging to a false “pro-life” stance that floods our streets with weapons.

My faith teaches that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:17).

On Aug 28, we march on Wall Street for justice.

As an educator and parent, I see the weight of inequality every day—in our schools, our families, and our communities.

Students shouldn’t fear for their lives at school. This is intolerable.

More needs to be done to end the epidemic of gun violence in our schools and communities.

At today’s briefing Trump quipped: “if we happen to be in a war with somebody, no more elections.”

History tells us to take authoritarian words seriously, even when disguised as jokes.

Snyder’s On Tyranny warns: defend institutions.

Protect the vote before it’s too late.

Just got to Union Station in DC. Walked out and saw soldiers + armored vehicles guarding the entrance.

This isn’t safety. This is how authoritarian regimes work — normalize the military in civilian life, until freedom slips away piece by piece.

Socorro ISD’s “penny swap” shows the broken system: Abbott & Patrick refuse to fund schools, lean on property-rich districts to cover for the state, and leave low-wealth communities scrambling.

Meanwhile, they push vouchers for the wealthy.

Public schools deserve better.

Snyder in On Tyranny: “Most of the power of authoritarianism is freely given.”

Texas Republicans are trying to sell harmful gerrymandering as “better” for Latino voters — when it’s actually designed to dilute their influence.

This is about control, not representation.
