Fermenter on bench 3/4 full of greenish yellow liquid. A packet of tea and a whisk stand by a small digital scales. Some empty Charlies white peach and passionfruit juice bottles.

My photo sucks but the stuff on the left is what we made trying to turn the stuff on the right into booze. White peach and passionfruit #mead. It ferments well (already done a test run) and it tastes great. Might even clear!

Disclaimer: it's been a very long time since I saw it, but I think what happened was that film-nerdy people stan it is the 1st of a bunch of things which are interesting to them and this somehow ended up seeping through to the rest of us resulting in a status which nobody really understands...

Update: fermented to 1.002 so racked to secondary for conditioning and settling, with bentonite. Got about 7 litres. It tastes and smells amazing. Would recommend.

We put down a "Carrot Cake" mead on the weekend. Just a little one, about 1 gallon/4L. It's based on the City Steading one – carrot juice, raisins, orange zest etc. No particular reason, ... just call it market research. It is already fermenting hard. Spices to be added in secondary.

I like this Barker's Rhubarb Raspberry & Rosehip syrup so much I decided to try an experimental #mead ferment. Just hydrating the yeast with some nutrient. The must is quite acidic so this might be a bust. But if its great we might try to come up with our own recipe. Wish me luck!

Started an orange blossom mead for New Years Day, used a tea I got from Kerikeri Tea. Had a bit of an hilarious brain fart while adjusting PH, ah well. Tastes delicious tho, very delicate flavour, and is furiously fermenting already..
