I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

it takes a special brand of political incompetence to see millions of people marching against the opposition and not do anything to seize that momentum but it appears dem leadership has decided to do just that

I signed the final bills Melissa Hortman shepherded through the most narrowly divided legislature in the county. All of them bipartisan.

We debated, we found common ground, and we compromised.

That’s how democracy should function.

I don’t care what city or town you live in. If these guys jumped out of an unmarked van and grabbed you on the street, would you just assume they’re ICE or FBI? Would you willingly comply with their orders and get inside the van?

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS.

Remember when we used to think Congress had to approve things?

This is not normal. A sitting president refusing to call the governor of a state after two elected officials were shot, one fatally, is beyond words. A typical president, regardless of politics, would pick up the phone. Offer condolences.

Not to alarm everyone, but there’s a lot going on right now…

America is divided into two starkly different realities. This is neither safe nor sustainable, and we will all ultimately pay the price. Division only serves to open us up to more threats, both foreign and domestic. There’s a better way forward. We have to find it together.

I did an event in DC & there was a party for donors etc after. Was talking to 2 ppl & I said "Things are so bad." They said "No this is how it is. Things swing one way, then another. It's normal."

That's when I realized why Dems are toothless. They have no idea what this is. Frogs boiling in water.
