This is like Dave Wottle ‘72 Olympics level comeback (though Lutkenhaus is only taking second in the National Championship). Then again, Cooper is only 16 years old. One of the wildest races of 2025 USATF National Championships in Eugene. MUST WATCH.

This was an awesome day of finals. Near impossible to pick a favorite moment, but using a metric of “which events had me standing and yelling at the broadcast”… Men’s 800m, Women’s 800m, Women’s 400mH, Men’s 5k, Men’s 200m (for better or worse).

Wait. Beef between Tinch and Holloway??? Noo! Forgot Grant will have the wildcard spot. That’s great! We might get some medals in the short hurdles.

Cordell Tinch on the 110mH team. Heck yeah! Rough go for Cunningham. Lots of good folks getting left behind, but some hope to get them on the relay crews (like Norwood). Loving all the hugs between the 100mH qualifiers. This is the content I want.

And also Team Marco Arop (Canada) in the 800m. 🇨🇦🍁

And we can have rivalries with like - I don’t know - people from other teams? Whatever. Team Kenny. Team USA.

But these dudes need to be teammates in Tokyo. I know the conflict might be good for media - Kenny vs. Lyles - and we are prob going to get that finish clip before every heat of the 100m and 200m on the US broadcast of Worlds, but more than attention - I want to see some competence in the relays.

Some drama at the finish of the men’s 200m final… 🤦‍♂️ Noah with a look or some works to Kenny at the line (Noah takes the win), followed by a push in the back by Kenny. I hate it so much. They handled it fine in the interview and I’m still pulling for Kenny in Tokyo.

Jasmine Jones apparently played in the WNBA for a while!! Incredible!

Dalilah, Anna, and Jasmine fill out the 400mH roster. Seems like Sydney sticking to the 400m in Tokyo. Especially pumped for Dalila to get the win. And precious to see old interviews of Anna Cockrell talking about how much of an inspiration she has been for her. Going to have an awesome 4x400 crew.

Gabby Thomas barely in for the 200m (3rd by a thousandth). Melissa-Jefferson Wooden continues her dominance for the dub. Much love for the Grand Slam Champ and big hopes for her in Tokyo in 100m and 200m.

Glad it benefitted someone! I’ve been having some fun with it. Speaking of - Hocker down the rail for the W!!!

You HAVE to find the replay of the men’s 800m Final. 16yo Cooper Lutkenhaus takes 3 seconds off the U18 record and kicks with a vengeance to take 2nd and a ticket to Tokyo. Commentator just said it is the fourth fastest American time in history. I guess behind Brazier. just now and Hoppel’s record.
