+1 for Halloweentown. So many memories watching that growing up!

If we are talking horror (broadly), I always recommend the Benson/Moorhead combo of Resolution (2012) and The Endless (2017).

A new find that I really enjoyed and isn’t too scary is Influencer (2022).

Recent international film: Exhuma (2024)

And for fun spin on haunted house: Deadstream (2022)

Any connection between 100 and 70 would be great! Old Hickory? Old Harding? Maybe we get that CHYM extension to Bellevue YMCA on 100 and make it a loop or something.

(2) CHYM included a route extension from Central to Bellevue YMCA, which doesn’t help you at all, but in the same map, I see where they have mapped sidewalks and proposed sidewalks along Harpeth View Dr and Willow Oak Dr, Old Harding and Learning Ln.

Great thread! Two things that might be of interest - (1) if Metro finishes the greenway connection at the soccer fields on Coley Davis (behind HD at the Ariza development), which really just needs to traverse the RR somehow, then you could cut off most of the route with a very nice bikeway.

🚌Thx for sharing your ride on the (not express) airport route.

Disagree service β€œmay be meeting current demand.” Demand is latent & correlates w/ frequency. We can’t judge need for a bridge by # of ppl swimming across a river.

If the bus ran more often, & were better promoted, more would use it!

And please - can we come up with a catchy name and some branding? The Music City Skybound? The BNA to Broadway? I want to get on this at the airport and be welcomed to Nashville on a loudspeaker by Dolly… or the Vice Mayor herself. I’m good with either.

Thanks for pointing this out and promoting! Even as I was writing, I was was thinking that if this bus ran every 15 minutes or even 30 minutes to where time table didn’t matter AND if it was promoted as the best way to/from BNA that it might be wildly popular. Heck - get it a bus lane somewhere!

The existing 18 Airport bus route to BNA has the juice. Let’s get some good marketing around this thing and make it so good the tunnel - whether it happens or not - is just so inconsequential. Be good out there.

Okay. I’m just feeling like a WeGo advertisement now. It’s your city, do what you want, but don’t be afraid to try the bus. I have been thinking about the 18 Airport service since the boring tunnel announcement and I am glad to say from today’s experience that…

Anyway, I think this bus really shines for Nashville visitors, especially those heading to the Convention Center/Lower Broadway or connecting to wherever their accommodations are. Just getting into the urban core is still a huge value if they want to Uber on from there or connect to a different bus.

…might make the 18 less of an option, but I suspect it would work well for a great many to their benefit. The current 45min - 1hr frequency on the 18 isn’t all that bad and might be meeting demand at the moment.

06.10.2025 21:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I realize moving kids and bags and navigating tight schedules and maybe having to go all the way downtown to connect to the 18 (though there were transfers for the 55 Murfreesboro Pike and 75 Midtown buses on the route)…

06.10.2025 21:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Especially for those of us on the west or north side of Davidson Co. that have to pass through or nearby downtown to get to BNA, the $2.00 ticket and connection from your local bus at WeGo Central is an incredible value and worth it if you have time to navigate the WeGo timetables.

I’m not capturing the exact time period that I traveled, but looking right now… an Uber would have been around $30 one way and - as I experienced when I tried to run this errand over the weekend - driving your own car and leaving it in the BNA garage for one hour cost $20 itself.

And the non-stop service (however/whenever it runs) does use I-40 and claims a 24 minute ride time between BNA and Central. This is compared to the midday Elm Hill Pike route that claims (and I confirmed) a 42 minute ride time.

Any BNA employees on here know the ins and outs of this route? I misspoke calling the first leg of my journey the β€œExpress” route as the many stops and timetable clarify… The non-stop service only runs in the evenings and maybe(?) only TO DOWNTOWN. Map and timetable below.

Regarding timeliness, since this route travels Elm Hill Pike to Donelson Pike, I bet it avoids the I-40 nightmare scenario we’ve seen so many videos of and reporting on. We didn’t touch I-40. I would love to see a report from someone who has seen the traffic on this route at its worst.

06.10.2025 20:03 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I clocked the return trip at just over 40 minutes. The timetable says 1:45 from BNA with arrival at WeGo Central at 2:27, so we were right on time. In fact, we were right on time in both directions. Would guess this doesn’t hold up at rush hour, but was spot on midday.

We picked up a few more riders before the Stix roundabout with over half the bus disembarking at Hume-Fogg on Broadway and 8th. We picked up a few here too and then continued on to WeGo Central on the loop up Rosa L. Parks and around James Robertson Parkway.

WeGo provided the charging ports, but I did not have a cable and my phone died, so I’ll wrap up this thread with a few more notes now that I’m back to the office.

We are up to 15 riders on the trip back to downtown with a few BNA employees and several riders from hotels along the route.

Can confirm that with a brisk jog you can make it from the main terminal level with security and the airline desks to the WeGo pickup in under 5 minutes. Honestly closer to the terminal than even most of the garage parking (and no line).

[one hour later]. I’m back on the WeGo 18 for the return trip. I had a quick errand to run at the airport (correcting a ticket for travel next week) and was able to catch the 1:45 departure back to WeGo Central.

Transit App trip summary says 9.3 miles and 33 minutes on the 12:15 bus. I didn’t get the app up until we were pulling out of the station so it might be more like 10 miles and 35 minutes for that one.

There were at least 30 possible stops along the entire route, so many options to hop on or hop off where you need to be.
