07.08.2025 14:08 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You see this post a title screen that is iconic to you.
I may be much more of a Castlevania fanboy, but as far as title screens go...you just can't top Super Metroid.
The founder of @demiplane.com Peter Romenesko says that Daggerheart remains the top game on Demiplane as of Aug. The user base is also "really young" (18-24 range). The momentum of interest has remained consistent since the May launch.

"Tell my spouse I'm 15 minutes late and send it in a jokey tone. I don't care about them enough to exert the effort to do it myself. Maybe later you can tell them about how much I love them, kiss them goodnight, all that? I'm busy and important. They aren't."
06.08.2025 15:30 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"Calm down. It's just a simple text message about being late."
THAT'S THE FUCKING POINT. Relationships aren't just built on big, deep conversations. Those little moments, sharing little jokes, the effort to touch base in the smallest ways... THAT is just as important. If you can't do that? Good luck
I wanna joke about this, but seriously...I you farm out simple, loving communication to an AI, I genuinely believe you are going to drive yourself into mental/social isolation and that is a dark, dark road. I truly think this mindset, and it does exist, will lead to a mental health crisis.
06.08.2025 15:30 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've seen a few folks talking about a plan like this with all that has happened over the last few months with Drivethru and Itch, and while I am happy to see a few different folks looking to create alternatives, there is no one I trust more to make it happen than RP.
05.08.2025 22:24 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0 the itch / Drivethru alternative will be an iterative process. Especially when it comes to marketplace laws.
But, I think I have the foundation in place to make a βhub for creatorsβ
Website, blog, digital sales, subscription, donations, forms, newsletter, links.
how does that sound to yβall?
Here is the link to the stream for tomorrow.

Looking at streaming some video editing and just hanging out on my Youtube channel tomorrow around 2pm (CST).
If you are interested in watching it live and asking question about the editing process (Davinci) or just hanging, I'll update this post tomorrow with specifics.
Right? I've always felt that mealtime was more regional. Probably influenced by climate. Here in the midwest, winter lasts forever and with it getting too dark and cold by 5 all winter, you want to go in and warm up with a meal.
Then people move around and those traditions influence others.
No they haven't. Shut up, Polly.
I grew up in the midwest in the 80s and 90s, and on average...dinner was always around 6pm here (sometimes earlier). We would balk upon hearing that "people in California eat at...8pm!??! Whhaaaaa?!" So were we all just secretly Gen Z? Have I been Gen Z all along!?
Yeah, I love having the chance to be a player from time to time, but honestly my preference is GMing!
05.08.2025 02:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've thought about this, and while I think it *could* work, I feel like Urban Shadows is a game that is really built around campaigns. So much of it is focused on long term projects, schemes, and goals.
Then again, is players know to avoid the longer-term abilities, I think it could still work ok!
I really hate when I read an actually fun, interesting VO for one of these youtube channels, because it puts me in a good mood that gets immediately dashed against the rocks once I get the next script and it's just more effortless slop.
04.08.2025 19:00 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Last night Joel and I did talk about maybe a little Tuesday campaign, so...
And yeah, I've heard solid things about DS if you're looking for some crunch and tactics, and when I find myself in the mood for that, I'm certainly going to check it out. But probably not before π
Obviously you can explain why you like something, or ask why they don't (or vice versa). Maybe one of you will learn something new. That's not what I'm on about. There's a difference between seeking understanding and seeking "correction."
02.08.2025 20:07 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Also, learn to shut up.
Someone dislikes a well done thing that you like? Cool, so what? Why are you really writing a huge thread about why they're "wrong?" For them... or you?
Either way, chill.
I've been guilty of this too. We're all leaning and growing, it's cool. No shade.
Part of becoming better at critique is learning to tell the difference between personal preference and good/bad execution/technique/mechanics/etc.
There's nothing wrong with disliking something well done or liking something poorly done. Just try to recognize when something is your opinion.
After reading through Legend in the Mist, I've upgraded my interest level in running or playing in a game from "quite interested" to "mighty need."
02.08.2025 19:49 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah, when I first got into Foundry I got into all that stuff, only to realize it was 1) so much time, and 2) only got in the way of us all getting immersed in the game.
Now I only use Foundry when the system module helps seamlessly track stuff in more complicated games. I ignore the rest lol
This is all I can think of when I see artistically bankrupt techbros "improving" older media with AI.
02.08.2025 12:17 β π 17 π 6 π¬ 0 π 0So true! Saw someone out jogging in all the smoke/air-quality-gunk here in the Twin Cities, and my partner jokingly said "Should we tell them they shouldn't be out there?" to which I replied, "I'm sure they are aware. You don't normally taste breathing."
02.08.2025 12:02 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As a teacher of games, I always tell my players "You don't need to read the book, we'll learn as we go."
With Triangle Agency, I told them, "Look...technically you don't *need* to read the book, but you should. It's the most fun I've had reading a rule book ever. Period. Please read it."
So yeah this is what they fucking did to wizard of the Oz and FUUCCCKKK man it's worse than I thought
02.08.2025 10:54 β π 10 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Anyway, if you wanna read what little has been said, here's the post.

I think I've just found so many others games that I've connected with more over the last couple years. Cypher still holds a place in my heart after over a decade of playing it, and I think fixing some issues with it are good. I just don't know how much I would go back to it at this point.
