A jumper in a jumper!

This fantastic frog was crocheted by one of Hampton Nature Reserve's volunteers, Abby, for our Reserve Warden Clare.

She is smitten!

Since I became an MP Iโ€™ve been pushing for river-friendly farming to protect our waterways.

Farmers want to be part of the solution, but govt must support them: invest in nature-friendly farming, properly fund the Envt Agency, and create more Water Protection Zones to truly tackle pollution.

Some key facts on *un*sustainable aviation fuel.

โ›”๏ธ80% of UKโ€™s waste oil would only power 0.6% of its flights

โ›”๏ธUsing synthetic e-fuel for all USA domestic flights would use 85% of USAโ€™s electricity generated.

โ›”๏ธPowering UK flights on plant-based biofuels would use >50% of its agricultural land

Wildlife charities urge Labour to scrap โ€˜licence to kill natureโ€™ in planning bill Conservationists say part of bill allowing developers to avoid environmental laws by paying into nature fund should be ditched Leading wildlife charities are calling on Labour to scrap a significant section of the planning bill that they say is a โ€œlicence to kill natureโ€, as new data reveals bats and newts are not the main reason planning is delayed in England. The RSPB and the Wildlife Trusts, whose membership is more than 2 million, said Labour had broken its promises on nature. They called for part three of the bill, which allows developers to avoid environmental laws at a site by paying into a national nature recovery fund to pay for environmental improvements elsewhere, to be ditched. wat is kruidenrijk grasland?

UK government admits almost no evidence nature protections block development Whitehall analysis provides no data or research to support the government argument that environmental legislation holds up building There is very little evidence that protections for nature are a blocker to development, the government has admitted in its own impact assessment of the controversial new planning and infrastructure bill. The analysis by Whitehall officials provides no data or research to back up the governmentโ€™s central argument that it is environmental legislation that holds up building. Continue reading...

I think this hits the nail on the head. Nature isn't good nor evil, it just is what it is.

Natural function should be protected but an important part of ecology is including humans in that process. I think that is where these difficulties lie, they take humans out of the equation.
