A system of people living together is a living organism. We must care for it every day, by caring for one another as well as our own selves. That is the basis of social contract.

A tariff β€œrefund” mostly goes to whoever wrote the tariff check: the importer of record. That’s not the same person who paid more at the register. So refunds -- if they're offered -- might sound like consumer relief, but in reality, they're corporate windfalls.

In 1989 there was buzz behind creating a "Bicycle Freeway" in Westwood that even Mayor Bradley endorsed. It proposed 17-foot-high elevated "veloways" crossing Wilshire & the 405 into Brentwood & Sawtelle. Cost: $7 million. LADOT said it would infringe on street/fwy improvements.

Could aliens in another galaxy see dinosaurs on Earth? How big would a telescope need to be to see Earth’s dinosaurs from 66 million light-years away? Think bigβ€”and then think bigger

You know what? Sure, I'll say yes. It also explains why aliens don't come here. Either they'd be afraid of the giant lizard monsters, or they're disappointed the dinos are gone.

We dedicate it to the Uzbek farmers who are at risk of forced labour and human rights violations, under the state’s coercive production system, as documented in a new joint report by @uzbekforum.bsky.social and @hrw.org.

Ireland's first four-hour battery storage system launched Statkraft, the largest producer of renewable energy in Europe, has launched Ireland's first ever four-hour grid-scale Battery Energy Storage System beside its windfarm at Cushaling in Co Offaly.

Interestingly, by providing electricity during peak demand, this will better balance the electricity grid, and allow more renewables to be used. www.rte.ie/news/2026/02...

Newsom: He’s a weak president β€” and that weakness is now on display globally. The only card he had left was these tariffs.

His entire economic policy has been mass deportations β€” and that’s beginning to unravel. His broader economic policies have obviously been aided and embedded in these tariffs

An ICE agent shot and killed Ruben Ray Martinez, a US citizen and San Antonio resident, in March 2025. Then ICE and the Texas Department of Public Safety covered it up. He was 23 years old. I am calling for a full investigation into this shooting, including why there was an 8-month cover up.

Judge Goodwin: "An anonymous government is no government at all. It cannot be held accountable. A masked agent freely uses force without justifying his actions, and the public cannot name him to challenge his conduct. A regime of secret policing has no place in our society."

πŸ‘€The federal judges in West Virginia, where ICE has been pulling over and detaining people on the freeway, are literally screaming about ICE's tactics.
