Indigenous Veterans Day is observed Nov. 8 and recognizes the proud tradition of military service by Indigenous people in Canada. Veterans Affairs Canada has a resource providing some amazing information on this topic. Link:

Coming up is Reading Break at UFV, meaning there are no classes Nov. 8-12 but the university offices are still open, except for Remembrance Day, which is Nov. 11.
All communities have special Remembrance Day events, the schedules and locations for which are easy to access through Google.

I am pleased to share that, following a comprehensive search, Dr. Tracy Ryder Glass has been selected as Provost and Vice-President, Academic at the University of the Fraser Valley. Glass has served in the role on an acting basis since July 1, 2025, and will begin a five-year term on Jan. 1.
