As someone who understands dog breeding, doodles are either going to be too inbred or have too high of a fail rate of achieving the desired coat/look. Which means health problems or a lot of puppies being dumped/killed.

one of the most infuriating parts of the Epstein story is over the same years that young women went to police and reported assault, and were ignored, law enforcement is pushing this idea that they need massive grants and manpower to rescue thousands of girls they say donβt even know theyβre victims

We once loved pigeons. We might not remember that, but they do | Joseph Earp
The gentle, beautiful curiosity of humans led to the discovery that these birds are able to differentiate between paintings by Monet and Picasso
It's nice to see more discussion about the origin of pigeons that, like gentle and humble dandelions, follow in the dismissive wreckage of human history, without any fault of their own.

He wants to put a dome on it? Seems he is looking for new ways to make the White House a palace.

We think of the White House as a big mansion, but the point is it's not a palace. It's a house. It's modest, one of the smallest residences for a head of state. The east and west wings are deliberately minimal and unobtrusive. It's not Versailles or Buckingham. It symbolizes civic republicanism.

OMG. This is wild. Are these people real?? Although lots of kids (including mine) begrudgingly read, I also know lots of teens who read multiple books per week. I donβt think enjoying reading is more or less rare than when I was young.

I read every book in our branch library as a fun challenge when I was 10-12. Then my mom had to start taking me to the downtown library. If I wanted a book they didnβt have, they would just order it. Now libraries have ebooks, too. Impossible to run out of things to read.

IDK, I have no wish to go back to the 90s, but in 1997 I was 22, had two jobs and was in a mastersβ program, had my own apartment, and went to concerts or clubs like 5 nights a week. I had so much fun with my friends. I slept, maybe, 4 hours a night and I was definitely never bored.

As a Gen-Xer who graduated high school in the 90s, I truly cannot understand my fellow Gen-Xers who have memory holed how dangerous it was. Gunshots were normal. We werenβt supposed to stop at red lights at night because we would be carjacked. Sexual assault was a constant threat.
