09.01.2025 22:13 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Colored engraving of three women from Livonia (a historical region in the Baltic). The one on the left wears a pink cloak trimmed with white fur. The collar is so high her eyes just barely peek out. A huge, layered triangular collar or headdress frames her head. The woman in the middle wears a pink cloak over a yellow gown trimmed, both trimmed with white fur. Her collar is so high her face is only visible peering out through the parted front of the cloak. The woman on the left wears a yellow cloak over a yellow dress. Her collar is a reasonable height. She wears a cylindrical headdress with four pins sticking out, two to a side. None of them look happy to see you
Colored engraving of a woman in a white and pink striped cloak over a pink gown. The high collar frames her face. On her head is a somewhat rhomboid gold headdress, a little like a kokoshnik. Her hands hold a string of chunky beads. She looks very over your bullshit
Colored engraving of two women, both in cloaks over yellow dresses. The woman on the left has a purple cloak and a headdress that kind of looks like an aviatorβs helmet with the goggles pushed up. The woman on the right has a pink cloak and a cylindrical headdress trimmed with dangling white oak leaves. She looks at the viewer with a βwhat are you gonna do about itβ expression
mods are asleep post Livonian ladies

09.01.2025 21:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1well it's another day of bearing witness to atrocities knowing the only people who could actually do something about it flatly refuse to and the rest of us just have to keep going to work and shit
21.02.2024 12:28 β π 2204 π 611 π¬ 29 π 23So. Iβve been a little stressed, so I bought a blind box ball jointed doll on a whim because I thought it was cute. And then two days later I had outfits, little shoes, a body upgrade, swapped some parts, and now Iβm making little drawings of them. I am fixating SO hard πβ¨

Even if we were to pretend that AI art is good, which it's not, somehow the world is circling back to the idea that hyperrealism, overly rendered, and "perfect" is what art should beβand it's not
Ideally, it is an experiment in finding personality and character in your own work and AI can't do that
idk whats going on with the Hugo's (i live under a rock these days) but i wonder if there's a phrase for when people get upset at the easiest target/easier person to access (ie being dicks to cashiers for company policies)

03.10.2023 18:10 β π 93 π 23 π¬ 1 π 0Thereβs a real underlying reason a lot of your favorite artists are returning, even to dip, to traditional media. I think weβre dying to tap back in with why we do what we do and thatβs a good place to remember. The joy of touching, practice, learning, taking a LOT of time, having time to ask why
18.02.2024 07:48 β π 513 π 131 π¬ 15 π 1the process is the heart. the piece is in some ways just evidence of the art, not the art itself, art is the active ephemeral process
18.02.2024 11:20 β π 437 π 107 π¬ 2 π 1still going! donate an e-sim to help palestinians keep in touch with thier families and with the world. and as a reward, get some art!
