not a new insight but this bears repeating: "fascism" is just when white people start being affected by the same atrocities their country had been committing in other countries before

I love seeing trans people on my screen. I love good stories that represent us and I like seeing art made by trans people.
But also, if all your activism consists of "I wish there was more of me in my video game" I don't trust your politics.

or maybe people will see it and think "we're making progress" when we're actually sliding towards the opposite end.

It's hard not to be cynical towards this rhetoric.

they're the ones who need to be told what to think. They see these AI models as an authority and just want to be told the answer. Critical thinking, in-depth reading, and actual research is too much effort. Nuance and complexity is a waste of time. Hurray for anti-intellectualism, once again!

people who regularly use AI as a search engine or some sort of easily accessible source of information and those who grew up being taught to never question or criticise authority only to embrace it are probably one and the same.

underestimating your enemy is a classic fascist trait. They can never accurately assess their enemies' strength and are therefore bound to lose eventually.

in my opinion, this is the consequence of always putting politics through a US lens. You are being duped. Politicians position themselves as "for the people" and "on the left" when all they really represent are the interests of big capital.

what do you think these terms have historically meant? Leftists have always fought to redistribute wealth and to flatten hierarchies while right-wing ideologies have always fought to uphold the status quo.

it seems like more people are starting to wake up to their material conditions and their role in their own liberation in terms of class, which is great. But I also can't help but feel a little bitter about how long it's taken since communists have been talking about this for over a century now.
