not a new insight but this bears repeating: "fascism" is just when white people start being affected by the same atrocities their country had been committing in other countries before

09.07.2025 16:21 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I love seeing trans people on my screen. I love good stories that represent us and I like seeing art made by trans people.
But also, if all your activism consists of "I wish there was more of me in my video game" I don't trust your politics.
or maybe people will see it and think "we're making progress" when we're actually sliding towards the opposite end.
It's hard not to be cynical towards this rhetoric.
there's too much talk about representation in media online for how effectively it can be used to take all revolution potential out of any movement. Is putting a trans person or a disabled person (both of which I am btw) on your screen going to affect any material change?
15.06.2025 13:56 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0they're the ones who need to be told what to think. They see these AI models as an authority and just want to be told the answer. Critical thinking, in-depth reading, and actual research is too much effort. Nuance and complexity is a waste of time. Hurray for anti-intellectualism, once again!
11.05.2025 17:46 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0people who regularly use AI as a search engine or some sort of easily accessible source of information and those who grew up being taught to never question or criticise authority only to embrace it are probably one and the same.
11.05.2025 17:46 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0There’s no middle ground, no compromise, no negotiating w/fascists. The notion you can piecemeal collaborate “a la carte” on an issue by issue basis is a fiction & any claim otherwise is historical revisionism & histricaly illiterate. Fascisms knows only one path. It must be confronted & destroyed
19.02.2025 16:16 — 👍 22 🔁 8 💬 1 📌 2underestimating your enemy is a classic fascist trait. They can never accurately assess their enemies' strength and are therefore bound to lose eventually.
Let's not make the same mistake. Fascists are not usually stupid or weak. They have different goals, and they don't care who they hurt.
a lot of profiles have their height and weight in their bio like it's their birthdays or their blood type or something... wild stuff

27.12.2024 11:36 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0disclaimer: this is a simplification. I know there are authoritarian left ideologies. Those who would rather reverse the hierarchies instead of flattening them. Point still stands though, up vs down and left vs right for all intents and purposes is the same thing
14.12.2024 13:37 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0why do you think socialists and communists are always the first ones to be killed when fascists take over? Something to think about.
Anyway, it's never to late to join the movement. Don't let the ruling class lull or even scare you back into compliance and pacificism!
in my opinion, this is the consequence of always putting politics through a US lens. You are being duped. Politicians position themselves as "for the people" and "on the left" when all they really represent are the interests of big capital.
14.12.2024 13:34 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0especially because I keep hearing the phrase "it's not right vs left, it's up vs down!"
what do you think these terms have historically meant? Leftists have always fought to redistribute wealth and to flatten hierarchies while right-wing ideologies have always fought to uphold the status quo.
it seems like more people are starting to wake up to their material conditions and their role in their own liberation in terms of class, which is great. But I also can't help but feel a little bitter about how long it's taken since communists have been talking about this for over a century now.
