In edge cases like this, I am always amazed when #TeslaFSD can find its way around obstacles downtown, even crossing the lines if it has to.
But probably could've used a cleaner windshield.

Meh. Money talks. At that price, they don't need the subsidies. It's a great little car at a good price. So is the Nissan Leaf.
09.10.2025 20:03 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This is how you move innovation forward and shows what's possible if that is your core business.
At the same time, shows that #Tesla has a complete lack of innovation or interest in being a car company.
Is this an Onion story? ๐
09.10.2025 00:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0You need to make a distinction between autonomous taxis and Tesla.
08.10.2025 22:39 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ha. I live in Phoenix, downtown, and have only ridden in one twice. Too easy to walk down here.
First one, a year ago was fine. The one from the airport last week was materially better.
Totally agree.
If youโve been in a Waymo, you know.
First you have to build a level of trust for the technology. One thing Musk has been unable to do.
08.10.2025 21:43 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0They probably should since ride sharing with human drivers will be come a niche market once autonomous ride shares are safe and ubiquitous.
08.10.2025 21:41 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I thought it pretty amazing that Tesla's FSD was able to distinguish both broken down trucks and the vehicle turning left across the intersection and still safely navigate this left turn.
08.10.2025 21:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Waymo took 18 months to build their autonomous platform and 10 years to productive it.
This is the classic, first 99% doesnโt feel like the next 99%.
Elon Muskโs hubris would never let him think like this.
Today, even Tesla owners are jerks to other Teslas. ๐
07.10.2025 16:58 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Sometimes #TeslaFSD really does drive like a human as this is exactly what I would have done.
You see the pedestrian coming up to the intersection, hasn't actually gotten there yet. But the car waits for them to see if they cross the street and then moves along as soon as it's clear.
Well done.
That link didnโt work for me. It just shows that picture.
02.10.2025 01:26 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0โThrough September, GM has sold 144,668 EVs, more than doubling (+105%) its sales from the same period last year.โ
Thatโs good, right? ๐
Yes, it is.
29.09.2025 22:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Feels like most of what he does is simply a means to an end.
Curious what that end is.
There are times when #TeslaFSD does feel like it knows what it's doing ... like in this case where it acts in a courteous manner and lets the Prius cross traffic to make their left hand turn.

Last update to Tesla's #FSD was May 11, 2025. That was 141 days ago. That's over 4 months.
Basically, the city is now acting as Waymo's marketing arm.
How is the public transportation?
Given the fact that Tesla will hold no responsibility for accidents, we really are the product. At least we get to pay for the privilege. ๐คฆ
26.09.2025 20:54 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As bad as #TeslaFSD is in some areas, in others I continue to be amazed. Such as navigating around parked and oncoming cars on a narrow street. And understanding when other cars are letting you through.
26.09.2025 17:09 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Other manufacturers could really make real feature inroads by focusing on driver assist instead of autonomous driving. FSD is a joke but some of the other features like parking and autopilot are fantastic and work 100% of the time.
Leave that to Waymo and others that know what they are doing.
Tesla's FSD is a parlor trick.
Took a ride in a #Waymo from SkyHarbor last night, first trip longer than a mile. While unsettling, it performed flawlessly. I thought it leaned a little too forward in some situations, but it worked.
Anybody think $27 for a 20 min 8 mile ride is a little excessive?
Don't knock until you try it.
19.09.2025 00:02 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0While not without its problems, #TeslaFSD does an amazing job navigating through construction with less than optimally marked lane lines along this section of the 101 and exiting easily at Raintree.
I really like how it doglegs around the slow car at the green light toward the end of the video.
You canโt manage what you donโt measure.
18.09.2025 11:53 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Tesla's FSD seems to have particular trouble transitioning from one highway to another. Initially, it's in the correct lane to exit but then switches, requiring me to disconnect and move into the correct lane.
One of these days, I'll have to let it make the wrong choice and see where it takes me.
