PM Carney Makes a Housing Announcement in Calgary Prime Minister Mark Carney makes a housing announcement and takes questions from reporters in Calgary. (March 20, 2025) (no interpretation)

Prime Minister Carney had a press conference this afternoon at which he was asked by the Western Standard whether he would reimburse the cost of his trip to Europe and Nunavut because "he hasn't been elected"...

Carney shows he is no shrinking violet with the press.

My government is cancelling the capital gains tax hike. We’re going to incentivize builders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to grow their businesses right here in Canada and create more good-paying jobs.

It’s time to build the strongest economy in the G7.

Scott McLeod Shabogesic:
Well I guess it's no big surprise, at least not for some of us. Today Poilievre made a s stop in Sudbury as part of his campaign where he didn't feel it necessary to open with a land acknowledgement nor did he feel it was important enough to talk about First Nations issues. The only mention of First Nations was for the road he supports to be built through their territory so investors and Canada can get richer off their land. What he did feel was an important issue to talk about was his desire to erect statues everywhere of his Canadian 'heroes' like John A. MacDonald... you know, the guy responsible for Indian Residential Schools and the starving of thousands of indigenous people to force them onto Reservations to build a railroad? Yeah that guy. Now some of you may think this isn't a big deal, at least not to you and that's because of a thing called privilege. However, to many of us this is a clear message for what's to come for Indigenous people. Vote with your head, heart and 'conscience' people. As a First Nation leader I will continue to fight and advocate for First Nations people no matter which party is in power but if you are non-indigenous and consider yourself an ally to indigenous people or have family that is indigenous, a government with such disregard towards us only makes dealing with the difficult issues our nations face, that much more challenging.

Today had withdrawal occlusion. Also, electrolytes were wacky: low sodium & CO2 w/ high-normal K & Cl.
