Forgot what it was like to watch a good Pixar movie lmao, legit got teary-eyed a couple times

I loved the fun ideas and how well it kept the scope manageable, felt like it wasn't trying to be some huge event movie

Really solid all around, I'd give it around an 8

Superman (2025)
I was surprised how deep in the thick of it this movie is from the beginning

I really liked all the little details that feed into how Metropolis as a world is built, like the way the citizens all talk to Supes like he's their personal friend

Super fun, felt fresh for a comic movie

Not hooked enough to go read the comic but if it got picked up as a show I think I'd watch it it seems fun

Haven't read homestuck but I thought the pilot was very cute

I liked the characters and style, everyone is saying it was rushed but I have no reference so I didn't personally feel that way

Toby was actually fantastic he could genuinely go into VA and I hope he does, VA in general was killer

Pleasant surprise! The 1st season definitely felt like Disney forced them to make a sitcom before they were allowed to make the show they really wanted with Seasons 2+3, but the cast is great and it wound up being really fun and sprawling!

1 movie to go before I cancel Disney+ lmao

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Fantastic, worth the 44 hours. I love almost every decision this game makes except for hiding important progression behind secret breakable walls that can be almost impossible to spot even when you're actively looking + bilewater runback 9.5/10

I guess you could argue the bad things this might cause were just gonna happen anyway though so maybe I'm just too naive

I keep hearing all this talk about how impossibly difficult Silksong is and I feel like I'm playing a different game or something? most boss fights are taking me 5-6 tries on the higher end

I am going out of my way to get all the upgrades as they become available so maybe that's part of it

Yeah I'd guess that's probably the main thing, because for instance little 3D "comics" I've seen, that are designed to emulate animation stills with caption-style text on the bottom, don't feel uncanny in the same way

How come nobody ever does 3D comics? Webcomics/books/manga/etc

All I could find were a few single-issue tech demo 3D-disguised-as-2D comics & the rest was cheap porn lmao

Is it cuz if you've already built all the 3D assets and boarded it out, it's closer to being fully animated than 2D would be?

My Adventures With Superman (S1&2)

I like these recent re-invention shows with the main DC gang

This is the first solo Superman thing I've ever really gotten into and I really enjoy it, makes me wanna check out more stuff

First ever exposure to Supergirl and she's great

Every time I hear about the vtuber scene and the concept of "graduation" I'm just stunned they ever let it be that agencies had the rights to their online personas to begin with

The Sopranos

Holds up really well! There's a lot of DNA from this show in things that come later (Breaking Bad especially) and even if in some ways it feels like it's just paving the way for storytelling I enjoy even more, I think everything about the way it is fits what it's trying to do.

This show, every single episode, puts an insane amount of resources into something so ridiculous you'd be shocked to see any S&P dept. approve it for even some $0 show tucked away somewhere

And somehow, it manages to actually be convincing/emotionally compelling at the same time

No cuz like, as a transfem who genuinely prefers playing male characters, I often feel like I have to keep the specifics of my gender identity on the DL to even have a shot sometimes

The issue is everyone always compares the Wii U on its own to the Switch on its own like Nintendo wasn't running two platforms at once back then

Wii U and 3DS judged together are a peak era
