America’s bankers are riding high. Why are they so worried? Their latest earnings do not represent unalloyed good news

The price-to-earnings ratio for the KBW bank index has not often been higher over the past 20 yearsβ€”except during the 2008 financial crisis and the pandemic, two periods during which earnings collapsed

A federal appeals court said that it would not let President Trump deploy troops in Illinois for now, leaving in place a judge’s ruling that blocked the administration from placing the National Guard in Chicago.

All the Pretty Little Nazis The shape of things to come.

"Trumpism will persist as the dominant feature of Republican politics at least to 2028 and almost certainly to 2032. We’re talking about a full generation of Republicans who *only* understand politics in the context of an authoritarian project."

"I feel sorry for the prosecutors really, who must be burdened by Trump's irrational and unfounded hatred for his fellow man."
