Decide what you want to crochet (making a toy is very different to making a blanket) then find a beginner tutorial for making that single thing. Nothing else, and only buy hook/yarn for that. It’ll be bad! But the next one will be better. A finished object with flaws is still A Thing You Did!

This one is a mixture of two yarns, a solid orange and a variegated brown/yellow one.

Since my crochet kittens got so much love, here’s a little fox I made last year. 🥰🧶
