The Telegraph suggests more people should have died during Covid to help the the economy. The economy that’s taken a £40bn hit due to the Brexit is still supports.

Which is not what was said. Earlier action would have reduced the length of lockdowns. Also concluded that earlier action may have reduced the depth of restrictions but this is disproved by the later failure of tiers

The Telegraph is defying reality though claiming lockdowns could have been avoided. Which is totally the opposite of that conclusion.

It’s not like we didn’t know what would happen - Italy was 2 weeks ahead. We locked down 2 weeks after them.
