Or incrementally improve it by adding missing paths and cycleways, and labelling them correctly. Google tends to fail here (Yorkshire) by telling me to cycle down steps or taking long road routes instead of paths because their mapping is car-based. OpenStreetMap is Wikipedia for maps.

It uses OpenStreetMap, so it depends on how much your local area has had its paths and cycleways mapped there. The good news is that you can add them yourself, and use streetcomplete.app to incrementallly add surface detail etc.
