Personally I don't think it's really landing and it makes him sound evasive, but what do I know.
Trump tapped white nationalist Jeremy Carl for Assistant Secretary of State for International Orgs.
He called the Civil Rights Act an βanti-white weapon,β pushed the βgreat replacement,β called Juneteenth a βrace hustle,β and compared J6 defendants to Black defendants in Jim Crow trials.

12.02.2026 18:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I love Fight Club because it's an interesting exploration of how frustrated young men can be manipulated, that even relatively privileged people can feel repression under capitalism, and power is directly tied to the monopoly on violence.
And I also have to pry if it's someone's favorite movie.
Agent: These guys were all threatening us yesterday with hand guns.
...
Agent: *Hand* guns, like threatening to shoot us.
Reporter: You mean like with hand symbols?
A: Pulling them out, trying to engage us.
R: Pulling out literal guns?
A: No. Making... assuming we were going to do something.
People are saying op but to be honest this could just be a well-meaning but poorly thought out attempt to accommodate people who are sensitive to loud noises.
It is a bad idea and reduces effectiveness, but it probably is coming from a place of trying to care for someone.
I didn't know that people had stopped understanding that actually asshole physicists do solid scientific work all the time and have for centuries
Newton was a complete shithead
Anyway I wrote a book about how physicists have often displayed very bad values and it doesn't need to be that way
Loved this book. I read it when I was feeling down about my love of space being hijacked by capitalist tech bros and really needed a fresh perspective on scientific achievement to keep my interest alive.

This is outrageous - we are supposed to be a free Republic and these people want an authoritarian police state. Lawsuits should be filed & ranking Dems in Congress should act.

There's an element of it being fairly acceptable entertainment for a kid.
Watching TV, playing games, even reading some books could open yourself up to criticism from adults. Newspaper comics were easily obtainable and adults were unlikely to scold you for it.
I'm also burnt out with the whole "Hey let's soften the messaging and then take action when we can" because the take action part never seems to come when we do that.

really? really? you're cool with "if you don't follow directions, they get to kill you"? that seems like a good state of affairs to you? that seems like how law enforcement ought to work: instant obeisance or death?
