Being in London, tho, means easy access to nice, if slightly overpriced, hats. (I’d been looking for something I could wear in more formal situations anyway.)

Completed my tour of places I was last night and nobody had it. Pour one out for old gray. Here’s my last selfie with it, seeing Merry Wives of Windsor at the Globe with @verybrinteresting.bsky.social.

Small potatoes given everything else going on but I lost my hat somewhere in London last night and am super bummed about it! I liked that hat! 🥺 It was ragged, but its status was well-earned.

I know it’s very popular to hate this show but I like this show and I am glad the show will be back so I can watch more of the show.

If anything it’s worsened by being made implicit.

They never cared about “religious freedom.” Like so many things, it was simply an artificially created moral high ground from which they could shout at and bludgeon whoever they didn’t like.

I recognize some self-serving bias here but I have been saying for, like, decades that I genuinely don’t think there’s a successful future progressive movement that does not incorporate faith communities. And many will be SHOCKED at how well the allegedly strange bedfellows align in priorities.

the number of people who instinctively apply skepticism to me in those spaces is frustrating, but sadly understandable because if I was a gambler I wouldn’t bet on [randomly selected priest] being cool in that context.

My radical politics are deeply rooted in my religious beliefs, but I do often find it hard to talk earnestly about *faith* w/ secular comrades. Idk if it's something specific to the "left" or maybe just where I live (NE US) and that geographical dislike of intimacy, or (justified) suspicion of faith
