I don’t know who needs to hear this, but just because life is unfair doesn’t mean you have to make your kids’ lives unfair. Your home shouldn’t be a microcosm of the world as you see it. It should be a safe place. You can teach them to navigate troubles without fabricating troubles for them.

Both! I understand the there is just so much story to tell, but it takes skill to write a short work that isn't rushed, still well-paced, and not an over-long short.
