All of us who are US citizens suffer from moral injury from the things done in our name, including the denial of basic needs this country can well afford to address, including healthcare to all immigrants. It would heal that moral injury to do this; it's an ethical act, not just a practical one.

The ICE agents deploying these are people without necessary training, those who couldn’t cut it in police training or didn’t want to join the military.

Shouldn’t the media always say “Armed combatants claiming to be ICE agents”? Because who the heck ever knows who these thugs are? When you say “ICE agents did X,” you might be in error. We could also say mayhem is being committed by unidentified armed thugs in American cities.

No, this is not the first time ICE has opened fire in Chicagoland. They killed a man at a traffic stop three weeks ago. Important context.
