Nothing like The Daily Show. You think you'll see any of this Right-Wing idiocy on the other networks? Not a chance. They don't have the nerve or intelligence to show the hypocrisy.

You can get a realistic framing of the 'news' from TDS rather than almost any other medium.

Is that true? Any link we can verify that? I didn’t know that.

That’s the fundamental problem with healthcare (even Obamacare). It just perpetuates an inefficient system.
The is NO leverage for the consumer (or employer) to negotiate and the price is completely opaque.
We need transparent pricing and controls and no middleman.

Not directing the AG, from the WH, is a norm not a law. I hate it but DJT isn’t breaking a law. He’s running roughshod over β€˜norms’.

To fix it, we should separate DOJ from all administration activity. There’s been too much recent history of abuse.

There are too many procedures that are based on good faith. We need laws. When Democrats are in power again, they need to focus on fixing the system as well as the economy.

I’ve always thought the same. Since most studies say costs will go down I don’t think it’ll cost them more. More than likely it’ll be less. Plus, it might help once we disconnect insurance from work. Also, you’d think they’d care that their employees were TRULY covered.

13.11.2025 19:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It doesn’t have to be a considerable tax amount. We pay more, per capita, than any other nation.
In addition to getting rid of the fat middlemen (insurance) there has to be price controls. Have you ever seen an itemized hospital bill. It’s outrageous.

13.11.2025 03:21 β€” πŸ‘ 68    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

Agree. Do we expect Republicans to suddenly develop a moral conscience? Have principles? Good luck with that.

There are 2 sides to this-1) justice for the victims (I’m all for that) , and 2) a trap for DJT. Ridiculous expectations for that.

12.11.2025 16:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I can't either. It's both sides (though I recognize it's not equal). I'm suspecting some of this cave is due airline pressure & the chaos heading into the holidays.
If our vote means anything we need new people in these offices.

The Daily Show had a great compilation of media claiming people were going to leave NY going back 15-20 years. Of course, none of it happened.

Great way to show the BS of talking points.

09.11.2025 04:59 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

You know what’s truly insane? After all those payments, by the individual & their employer, it’s still a gamble whether you get coverage AT ALL!
Insurance companies can deny & refuse to cover at will. Good luck if you have an event or long term issue.

09.11.2025 00:52 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

True. One aspect no one discusses is that we're going to need some price controls on hospital, doctor and medical tech fees.

Eliminating insurance is so huge. Wait till we get to price controls.

A question for Republicans - is it better to have a President who is a pathological liar or one who is pathetically out of touch with reality?

Seems like the only choices with this chump.

06.11.2025 16:02 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Right? I mean he was considered the intellectual. Then I read, on some biographical article, he listened to Fox on his way to work. Lost all respect at that moment. If HE couldn't see through the BS then what chance was there that all those other right-wingers could be counted on for their 'wisdom'?

06.11.2025 00:34 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Democrats didn’t create this problem. Both parties let insurance companies, hospitals, and doctors run unfettered over millions for decades. The ACA isn’t a fix , it’s a bandaid. At least more people are covered, with no preexisting limitations and no lifetime caps have helped. Universal coverage!

05.11.2025 23:38 β€” πŸ‘ 9    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, I stopped believing they were inherently more informed when I learned, years ago, that Scalia was an avid Fox News watcher. I mean if there isn’t a more clear cut case of stupidity I don’t know what is.

05.11.2025 23:31 β€” πŸ‘ 10    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Why is it up to one person? This is government disfunction. This is the type of stuff that needs to be cleaned up when Dems take over.

04.11.2025 16:16 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Absolutely agree.
Also, agree about the outlandish charges we see. At some point somebody is going to have to bring up a universal price guideline for services. It’s out of control.

Have ANY of these frameworks actually been passed by Congress?

I’m glad you listed out the law. Common sense should be enough. I mean why $230 mil? Why not less or more? It’s based on nothing but his imagination.

26.10.2025 23:11 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I sometimes feel the same. Then I read it and feel awful because it demeans my humanity. How can someone be so thick?

26.10.2025 23:06 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

One of the ugliest games I’ve ever seen. They should call it already.

26.10.2025 19:06 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, once again, this is beyond the pale. In what world is he owed any money?

Nice. Is that a bootleg?

18.10.2025 22:49 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And we just went through a period where they were blaming Dems for violent rhetoric. Geez.

16.10.2025 21:38 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Agree. Massive Democratic (and independent) turnout for the midterms. So much that it would nullify all the monkey business Republicans are trying to do to win.

12.10.2025 00:26 β€” πŸ‘ 11    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

That may be the only thing, maybe, that will save us. They truly are stupid. Too stupid up actually accomplish anything.

Plus, Trump is lazy as f*ck. The only reason he issues so many EO’s is that he can’t be bothered to actually work with his delegation to write laws.
