Say hello to the Rodman Rule in the NWSL.
Yeah, good luck to Eddie and Joe following THAT. #aewdynamite

Senior numbers took a pretty notable dip after a tremendous 2024 campaign.
Corrected (no two Kansas' on this one)
Here's my usual offseason "what would a regionalized NCAA WoSo setup look like" thought experiment.
All Power 4 teams in + top performers in 5-year balanced RPI to make up five 18-team regions.
Seventeen game regular season, everyone plays everyone once.
Possibly, but that could be a long way off.

USL Super League news...
Masaki Hemmi is moving over to take charge of Lexington's men's team.
Assistant Kosuke Kimura is stepping up to helm the women's side now.
And now...Chris' post-2025 NCAA DI WoSo CoachRank Top 60
Not a bunch of churn, really. 51 of 60 coaches in last year's Top 60 are back on this list.
A July update will be out with new entries if some of these coaches move on.
Coaches from the big conferences get a bonus (out of a 50% pool) applied to their number based on league's NCAA Tourney performance.
This year's bonuses:
ACC - 32% (down from 36%)
Big East - 1% (same)
Big Ten - 6% (down from 9%)
Big 12 - 7% (up from 1%)
SEC - 3% (down from 4%)
Coaches need a minimum of three seasons at their current school to be eligible for the list.
And keep in mind this is a 3-5 year average! One good season and four bad ones isn't going to get you in the Top 60.
OK, now for the numbers. As a reminder, CoachRank measures:
League Performance
Conference Tournament Performance (if applicable)
NCAA Tournament Qualification/Performance
And that's it. Seriously, that's it.
And thus ends another season of NCAA WoSo.
Offseason projects start tonight, with the updated CoachRank being first.

And now comes my deep, dark depression of the NCAA WoSo offseason where I get to suffer through NWSL leadership stepping on rakes for eight months.

No prizes for guessing who #1 is, as he'll be adding that honor to the ring he picked up tonight...
The Kate Ockene story is some real one-in-a-million stuff.
Wasn't even the highest ranked freshman GK recruit on the team, basically began the season as a third-stringer, and now delivered an immortal, national title winning performance for FSU.
Kate Ockene delivers one of the best ever goalkeeping performances in an NCAA final and FSU's late goal from Wrianna Hudson delivers the Noles their fifth national title at the expense of Stanford.
09.12.2025 02:14 β π 10 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0So we really not going to have a StatBroadcast link for the NCAA DI WoSo championship match?
Speaks volumes, and not in a good way.

My very rough 2026 NWSL Roster Chart, complete with a Free Agents tab.
I went with the league posted free agent list to fill gaps for teams that haven't posted roster updates. It would help if that league list were 100% updated. It isn't!
A memory jogger for what happened in the regular season when FSU played Stanford.
Card struggled to contain Dudley on this day despite the win.
Couple notes:
Ockene hadn't taken over as FSU's starter in goal at this point.
Montoya was a DNP for Stanford but is back now.
English youth international Lauryn Thompson, who was a verbal commit to Florida State's 2026 class, has signed with the North Carolina Courage.
08.12.2025 19:18 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Lais Araujo has apparently moved to CB since the last time I saw her ages ago at Florida in NCAA WoSo.
80% defensive duel win
86% forward pass completion (61% long pass completion)
50% aerial duels won
Those numbers from 2024/25 season at Benfica.
San Diego Wave beats Tigres, 3-0, to win the World Sevens in Fort Lauderdale.
Pretty dominant showing, as they won four of five games by multiple goals. Only Club America got close, with the Wave winning that one on penalties.
Club America over Flamengo, 1-0, in the World Sevens third-place game.
Final coming up at 4:30 PM EST.
