Wow, that's amazing! Your tattoo is very expressive. I love the steam, the curled noodles and the way the cat is clutching the bowl. The first thing I asked about the commission was, "is she allowed to eat the ramen or is she sneaking it"? The answer was "allowed" but stealing looks awesome too.

A poster I made for the upcoming pottery sale at the studio where I make my work! There will be 25 other potters, as well as music, refreshments and a raffle.

Another cup. There is only one with this decoration; not part of a set. But I would try this combo again for sure!

Another set of four. Scribbling a face onto a cup - I wondered if it might seem derivative, like I'm copying the work of other artists. But drawing a face is pretty classic, and everybody draws faces differently anyway, and I have always liked drawing weird cartoon faces. Who doesn't?

Four cups. Snake, snail, butterfly and bug. Layered underglaze and glaze. I have even more of these cups to share soon!

Large frog platter that can hang on a wall! Made using a pottery form that fits onto the wheel. (Like a positive form of the negative space inside the bowl, which you "throw" upside-down.) This was my test piece, to make sure it wouldn't crack. I intend to decorate the next one more elaborately.

That is my question too! Does it somehow scrape a groove and fill it with pigment?

Plate with an illustration copied from Tom Tierney's classic Ready-to-Use Office and Business Illustrations. I'm a fan of clipart. Those of an elder Millennial persuasion may recognize Tierney's work as repurposed in the webcomic Get Your War On.

"Good Fire Going" bowl. Inspired by the fact that when people sit around a campfire, they mainly say banal observations about the fire itself. Fortunately, the glaze pooled in the spot where the smoke is!

Nice. I love it when surface decoration uses the shape and perspective of the concave form like this.

WIP - black lines added to bisqued. May not look as good fired. I am a fan of Tom Tierney's office clipart, and this is my attempt to capture the subtle psychological mood of his work. (Orange woman looks to be seething with resentment, in my opinion.) Black and white pic is from Tierney's book.

"Can you dye my hair white-blonde?" "Yeah, but only if you recently changed religions"

I was curious, so I looked this up and found: During the Vietnam War era, it was easy to immigrate to Canada. Draft dodgers were not being accepted as refugees; they were just regular immigrants like anyone else. Canada didn't ask them about their military service, and America looked the other way.

Amazing linework! I like the way you've made the illustrations work on a piece that has texture and variegation and isn't a blank slate.

These are the fronts of the cups. People getting ready in the morning (as they drink their coffee out of these cups).

These are the backs of the cups. Reclaimed studio clay, turquoise slip on the rim. Clear studio glaze, then commercial blue shino glaze on the rim. I forgot that studio reclaim clay has speckles in it; I assumed these would be light brown. So be it!

Some cups in progress. I am trying to re-create a cup I made very casually 10 years ago, which ended up beloved by me. Anyone else do that?

I believe everyone should let their light shine. It's just that some people's light is a fart lit on fire.
