I guess this passes for the first real gameplay video from my game :D Collecting sticks and stones is a core mechanic in every survival game after all. I experimented a little with ambience and SFX here to build the atmosphere. Still very early WIP. #survival #indiedev #solodev #gamedev #goth

Making a mock up of my HUD. Going for something simple but stylized. I wanted to put all survival-related stuff in one place and have the readable hotbar at the bottom. I'm quite happy with using the lantern as indicator for thirst, light and hunger. Fits the theme :) #indiedev #hud #ui #survival

Bro, you can't just say that Algorithm's album was bad as if it was a fact xD Graceful Degradation is quite a solid track for example. Maybe not in terms of industrial metal but as a quality Algorithm track it sure is :D

Definitely! After the recent feedback I'm almost sure that I'll add the remaining 4 angles :) They seem to be a must have here.

Proof of concept for my 2d hard infinite shadows. Eventually I'm going to turn them into soft shadows and also have the vegetation cast and receive shadows... but it's gonna be a different technique. For smaller objects I don't want the shadow to be infinite ;) #gamedev #solodev #indiedev #shadows

Gamplay is coming real soon ;) I'm trying out a novel development approach: "Feel and Atmosphere first".
I'm primarily a programmer so I feel quite confident about the gameplay part :D Wasn't so sure about the visuals so I decided to prioritize it in this project.

Haha, I can relate to that 100%. In my previous game I was so eager to code the gameplay that I did everything with "whatever" and quickly drawn assets. Then, well... they stayed there until the release :D Nothing more permanent than a temporary solution xD

Thank you so much! My intention for this game is actually to get the atmosphere and "feel" of the game right before I invest heavily in gameplay. I'm primarily a programmer so this is the most challenging part for me ;) I'm super happy to hear that it's going in the right direction so far!

Got you! It slowly started to get to me that this is probably what you had in mind :) You know what... I like see this style I'm cooking by an analogy to "Neo Cafe Racer" motorcycles. Sure, they're meant to mimic the old school design but leverage the new technology to get a unique, modern look ;)
