I’m pretty much just using Unitys 2D URP for the lighting, and the river is just a few tiled sprites moving at different speeds using a texture scroll

Added lights to some of the plants that spawn, maybe a little too many when they spawn close together...

***layers not tags

basically all the buildings are on the building layer and then if they have a collider on them that overlaps enough with a grid square in the a* system that node gets marked as not walkable and the path planning will ignore that node

I do have a way to add weights to the nodes on my a* pathfinding system so they will favor paths. I also have a check for colliders with specific tags that marks any squares those objects overlap with as not walkable.

Testing some new items for the NPCs to encourage them to get together more and just hang, ignore everything else happening...

Mood

Me! Although I've started calling it a dark cozy game. For me, it's because the game mechanics are similar to those of existing cozy games. Building up the town, collecting recourses, getting to know the NPCs. However, the player also has the option to do bad things, making it a little darker.
