At the point when the funeral procession comes through, they have right of way (state law almost everywhere).

The (presumed) agent broke the law when he went to grab the ziptie and caused the car to stop. No point to bring charges against a (presumed) Fed...but it doesn't mean the law wasn't broken

Linking to age of diagnosis seems faulty.
Diagnosis requires 1) symptoms to be noticed as atypical, 2) access to a qualified clinician, 3) symptoms to be negatively impacting function.
Three points of failure that aren't even in the control of the person with ASD during childhood.

Cable companies are a little different.

Search for your city & the channel (not necessarily the number, but what you hear the local anchors say, or what's in the graphics) - the group that owns/runs the local station and holds the FCC license should be on the station's website.

The events I've seen laid out indicate that Disney/ABC suspended after Sinclair+NexStar pulled the programming because of Carr's threats to Sinclair and NexStar licenses.

They did break trust.Rebuilding it will take work. If your local ABC isn't owned by Sinclair/NexStar, they were uninvolved tho.

Yes!! They didn't appear to interfere with his message at all, to the point where that interference which we expected became part of the joke! ("To reactivate your Disney plus and Hulu subs...") πŸ˜‚

I think it's a brilliant strategy, and I hope that Disney/ABC is seeing what people are saying...

Details are worth knowing: were the Jeep and Kia ads for models of car, or local dealerships? If the latter - dealerships elsewhere, and the manufacturers, have nothing to do with that.
Anyone who advertises on Sinclair or NexStar should be questioned about their decision to do so.

Yeah, I imagine that programming decisions are "bottom up" in contracts. During natural disasters, weather often pre-empts the regular broadcasts.

Still, there may be similar lines of thought. ABC just needs to get into a "malicious compliance" mindset.

Contracts would be tricky, especially for sports...but I do like that line of thought and I hope that higher ups are thinking.

To start, I agree, the suspension was not appropriate. Still, they didn't "in the first place" -- they reacted to what many of the local stations were doing. NexStar and Sinclair pulled the program first.

Iger and co. have to earn back trust after what he did.

YouTube isn't a substitute for broadcast TV.
A tv and antenna are one investment, no subscription or service contract.
In times of natural disasters or crisis, it's not unbelievable that broadcast tv would be the only public messaging system functional.

And if your local station aired Kimmel, consider letting them (and their advertisers) know that you are aware of the pressure and appreciate their resistance!

Contact your local stations, the companies which own them, and the local advertisers. Let them hear your gratitude or your complaints (as appropriate!)
They don't get a penny from your monthly subscription plans. In fact, it's probably the reverse.

There is a loss of broader context that allows the consumer pressure on Disney (via subscriptions) to appear like the solution here. In the meantime, a larger threat to local engagement, safety, and activism continues...

A 'dumb' TV and antenna are comparatively cheap, one-time investments. They often last longer than phones do, and don't require a bunch of accounts, security updates, deposits, or credit history.
Broadcast TV content is also required to meet accessibility standards that other platforms aren't.

24.09.2025 14:24 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

both!! NexStar needs to hear (in great numbers) that their for-profit obeisance is going to put them at odds with their audience and advertisers.

YouTube is fine, but it is not a substitute for local TV stations (especially during natural disasters).

Even without climate changes, there are people who run hot and cold, and that didn't cause a division in the fashion.
The construction of the fabric is a big deal. An open weave will breathe, like he mentions in the thread. Simply using finer threads to make the fabric will also make a difference.
