Just to be clear, Cdn rec centres should definitely have PAID staff. Toronto used to provide PAID staff and little shed in most public parks. They lent out sports equipment & helped organize pick-up games, crafts, etc
Now publicly-funded rec centres require $$ to join & races for few open spots.

I remember the commercials flooding Copenhagen streets and bus stops, to make the f35 purchase more palatable.
Of course pilots want the best, but as was mentioned, if a good plane can't get the right parts, it's not a trusted aircraft and good pilots know the value of the mechanics of flight.

Black-and-white photograph of Billy Bishop seated in the open cockpit of an early biplane aircraft. He is turned slightly toward the camera, wearing a dark jacket, with short hair visible. The aircraft’s metal fuselage, struts, cables, and part of the wing structure fill the foreground and upper frame. Trees and a building appear blurred in the background.
The Germans called him "Hell's Handmaiden".
Each time he returned to his aerodrome, his airplane was riddled with bullet holes.
No British Empire First World War pilot had more confirmed air victories than him.
This is the story of Billy Bishop.

Many of the Gaza scams clearly organized- same content, appear in distinct waves / batches.
Bluesky needs to be better at stopping them at source.
Also, BS reporting feature not designed to report organized scams.
Like a common phrase but with random letter substitution.

Yeah - it's an organized scam. Bluesky should be blocking them at source.
The content is sufficiently predictable that a quick little algorithm should identify them along with their origin. That's BS's job.
It's different from random scammers bc it's organized.

Is there a way to report organized scams on Bluesky? I've now blocked multiple Gaza scams in just the last two days.
They use a mix of alpha and numeric in the text, making it harder to search & block. Having BS block them at source would be better.

Here's something to think about...
When govts do "school vouchers", which fund private & religious schools- who do the school grounds belong to?
Public schools can be turned into community centers when student enrollment drops, and back to schools when it rises.
But public $ on private schools?
08.02.2026 14:43 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0
Definitely, Canada should use school grounds more efficiently- before / after care, weekends, evenings- for kids & parents. Also libraries- one few free "3rd spaces" left, already offers semi-supervised care, clubs, meeting spaces...
Look to Mamdani - spend tax $$ on people = fiscal responsibility

Policy on health is clearly broken - politicized, out of touch, reactive and slow. My recent keynote at the Canadian Biosafety Symposium took a big-picture look at how and why that's happening, and how we can turn things around.
Here's a general-audience version, recorded at the Deep River library.

Introduction to Far-UVC and Air Purifiers
Using computational modeling to understand how to best use these technologies in the real world
The Science Behind the Comparison
To understand the differences between Far-UVC and filtration, we need ...
@nukit.bsky.social has posted an outstanding modeling effort on her blog at www.nukit222.com/blogs/info/f.... and on that other site x.com/NukitToBeSur.... She not only shows how she did the modeling but also the conclusions she reached and how to think about Far-UVC/air purifier combinations.

Image shows a SketchUp view of the concept model. It uses four 24x24x1” 3M Filtrete 1900 MERV13 filters in an M configuration, above eight down-blowing 140mm Arctic P14PWM fans. (Shows simplified fan bodies, but not blades ‘cause that was easier to model.)
Finally! I built & tested an open-source concept model air purifier that should be good for schools. Lots of air (CADR > 420 CFM), quiet (<45 dBA), uses <9 W, and ‘cause it’s wall-mounted & down-blowing, it moves air in the right direction & takes up no floor space. Always check my ALTs🧵⬇️

Perhaps those of us straddling the two platforms could commit to making a pitch for BS at least once / day when on Twitter?
Or encourage a single account to make the leap every time we're on Twitter?
Collectively, this might work?
