The 4th "quarter"/game of the All-Star game was a wash, but then OGs were TIRED, and you could tell.

But overall, it definitely felt really competitive and more entertaining. And the basketball was actually the focus this year, instead of whatever TF they were doing last year.

Debate culture has been terrible for society. It's about who can be the loudest and create the most viral content, rather than actually civilized, fact-based conversations.

Those sports debate shows are the same. First Take is the worst thing to happen to sports debate, and debate culture overall.

Like everyone is praising that guy that recently went on there and took on all those MAGA conservatives, but if you look into him, he is actually not a great person himself. Like you said, failed politician, and for good reason.

It's all just rage-bait because that's what sells.

I cannot stand the Jubilee Surrounded debates. They just get the most extreme people that don't even truly believe what they're saying, it's obvious. It's toxic, and it only exists to create easy viral content for their platform and nothing else.

I think so, too! I've been thinking about it since they did that weird virtual HORSE competition during COVID. Something like that with actual current NBA players would be neat, maybe even get some legends in there, too.

I know folks say this every year, but that was LEGIT the absolute WORST dunk contest. Like, it's not being exaggerated this year, it was objectively terrible this year.

This... "show"? I can't even call it that smh... It's literally designed to take the worst, particularly of our culture, and give them their 15 seconds of fame just for "entertainment" purposes. And I hate that because there are so many of us that genuinely want the best for each other.

I don't mind helping to cover a birthday person or whatever, or if it's a small group of like three of us that we're all friends and such, okay sure. But helping to cover a bunch of strangers' tabs? Nah, they need to pay for their own.

I feel like asking everyone to spend a certain amount or forcing everyone to split it evenly is kind of tacky. Like for instance, I'm not drinking right now, so if I go out and a bunch of folks are drinking when I'm getting like a club soda, why should I have to cover their expensive drinks?
