The design industry needs more leadership styles. Work with your strengths, not against them.
Your team needs the best version of you, not someone else.
What's your experience with different leadership approaches?

"Why is quality so rare?" is a question that designers ask every day. Pretty thorough blog on the subject, and a few interesting takeaways.
What are your thoughts on why quality (in software, in services, in most businesses today) is so increasingly rare?

Is there a *single* company that has offered a similar service to an industry and made it profitable with AI?
Not growing. Made profit. Actual, real life money.

Agreed! There's still a powerful early design phase I usually call co-design, where I like to get designers/PMs/whomever in a room/meeting, dragging out components, playing around with layouts, highly experimental.
You're just playing with pre-built pieces rather than inventing things from scratch
In other news, since @jessicahische.bsky.social did mention FIDLAR.
... best song ever? www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXTc...
Consider putting the videos or at least a link to YouTube on the site, had no idea there even were videos until the Jessica episode (she mentioned jumping off camera).
Definite value add!
i feel like a lot of folks are starting there and putting in the (absolutely insane amount of) work it takes a ton to get out of it
i'm still on that phase

Are folks still using wireframes in UX or Product design? Feel like more and more of my attempts at wireframes look like mockups, and curious if this step is even valuable.
My take: with components so easy to use, why not just use the pixels? makes it easier to get feedback from different POVs

18.07.2025 14:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The hardest part? Getting others around the company to get involved. One of my constant challenges (even at past orgs) is to get engineers fully involved.
Second hardest? Naming the thing!
Been wanting to update my personal site + write a few blogs on how we're building it, need to crack that out.
Been working on a design system at work, and it's incredibly motivating. Figuring out the best way to build things, and do it alongside engineers, is so rewarding.
We're building it...
- Open source
- Fully embodying CSS variables on everything
- Scoped themes
- Automating deployment/docs
- Etc.
Shameful
