I know honey. I'm just tired. I just don't think I have any faith in my ability to make change or not have my voice drowned out by the bullshit. I also don't want things to blowback on you either. Funny that I complained to you about people not jumping forward due to fear of their reputations.

I salvaged my night, but it definitely took a lot of effort to not crash out and go on a tirade about the things I keep running into with the communities I am around. Once again convincing myself it's just going to fall on deaf ears, or that it's not my place, or maybe I'm wrong. Idk. Me sleep.

Fell in love with the arcade original but the NES port is surprisingly good considering arcade ports where kind of falling out of favor with the NES then. It's a great take with how much they were able to add while making it still feel like the same game. And that chiptune Bach remix still kills.

I'm hoping that last paragraph isn't just a "We heard your feedback and we didn't hit the mark" BS line and they come back with some more substantial soon. The "Losing good will from *all* sides" line does not inspire confidence. That's the attitude that made this a problem to begin with.

My wife was getting into RA from your streams and she was really upset to hear about what was going on. It's really frustrating that this was something that became a discussion in the first place. At some point, people gotta learn that there are some things where it's impossible to neutral.

Oh yeah, totally agree. Regardless of intent, this is the wrong response. I feel this more of a case of being weak-willed/cowardly/misguided/apathetic rather than active malice. It should still be reprimanded accordingly since this kind of enabling and apathy such a huge contribution to the problem.

I get this was the "We would rather not actually deal with this" answer but this is one of those cases where being 'neutral' is giving permission for bad behavior.

The true "Go away please" answer would be to just ban romhacks altogether. Or at least ones that aren't translation patches

This is a modern 4chan ROMhack. Someone knowingly made those decisions. It's deliberately offensive. Allowing it on the platform is endorsement. Saying you don't pass judgement on it is endorsement by default as you are saying it's okay.

Making achievements somethin like the famicom Tashiro Masashi game, a game that is deeply upsetting due to it's namesake in hindsight, is archival. Making achievements for it would be in bad taste, but it's a product of its time and the public was unaware then. I think a case could be made

Looked into this and uh.... yeah, this is a bad take on their part. There are people who do try out new games and romhacks based on Retroachivements and will be exposed to this. It is, defacto, platforming hate speech. I get what they mean by being archival but I don't buy it in this example.
