SCOTUS themselves ruled last year partisan maps are legal and allowed, courts can not intervene. The DOJ fucked up when they sent thst letter calling for districts based on race.

Maybe, most likely not. SCOTUS is ready to strike down districts drawn based on race, thereby effectively killing the VRA. SCOTUS has already ruled courts can't block districts from being partisan gerrymandering

Except the SCOTUS is currently hearing a case arguing to limit race based districts and the conservative majority has strongly singled they are in support of striking diwn maps drawn on race. The DOJ letter explicitly called on Texas to redraw districts based on race.
