5 months ago I was scrolling the hellsite & came across some tweets from @sisuvanhell.bsky.social that was my first exposure to the far-right extremist ostrich convoyers. They accused CFIA of sending "murder drones" to covertly cull their flock of ostriches after a H5N1 outbreak. Curiosity piqued.

Meanwhile, solar and wind investments have been lost or set back by the provincial government's moratorium and new rules. And oil companies continue to skip out on paying their taxes and cleaning up their wells. We could be generating so much more tax revenue and power already.

The proposed nuclear project plans to use water from the Peace River. I asked at the recent open house and nuclear waste will be stored on site, btw, until if/when a longterm nuclear waste storage facility is built out east.

Peace River and area residents have also listed a whole host of other concerns re nuclear, such as about our river's water & wildlife. Energy Alberta must now review & respond, & it will be decided IF a full federal impact assessment is required: iaac-aeic.gc.ca/050/evaluati...

Pursuing a nuclear power project in Peace River should be set aside until separation is completely off the table. It's a federally regulated power source for a reason. And indigenous people aren't going to be eager to approve any new projects until separatist talk is quashed.
