Slowing down is completely fine. Stopping? No. Not safe either. If you aren't at a stop sign/red light, stopping in the middle of a road is not fine. I'm not sure why people can't differentiate between slow and stop. I drive Gale Lane multiple times/week. People stop. Then proceed over the cushion.

I am 100% with you on that. I heard the "explanation" yesterday from Yurachek, although it wasn't much of one. He seemed caught off guard by the question - which was weird - and fumbled the response. You would think that's a question he would have fully prepped for and rehearsed!

It's not only about Alabama. Couldn't care less what happens with them. What I'm saying is if every team is not playing that extra game, then nobody should get penalized for losing it - or get benefit for winning it. At least not when it comes to CFP rankings. Just take it out of the mix altogether.

The question for me is more about why was the head to head w/ Miami only considered this week & not prev weeks? If they were going to consider that in rankings, why only this week?

I agree. It's one thing if the tournament includes 68 teams like March Madness, then you can of course include a wider range (even then there are bubble teams and somebody gets left out). But at only 12? Or even 16? There just aren't spots available without cutting REALLY more deserving teams.

If they go with top 12 ranked, take out any CCG impact (good or bad), that will eliminate guaranteed spots for the group of 5. Some people aren’t going to like that either. Even though they have no chance of winning it, some want them to have the access.

So basically the committee will have to guarantee that a CCG will not hurt a team. Since ND will be guaranteed a spot without ever having to play in one. Which is what they did for Bama this year and nobody liked that.

Well, starting next year, they’re guaranteed a spot if they’re ranked in the top 12. They won’t have to play an extra game like other teams who will be ranked and risk falling. But they’ll be guaranteed a spot.
