27.10.2025 22:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My email to Sky: Dear Sir or Madam, Perhaps you could explain something to me as a humble viewer without the deep and extensive experience of politics in your organisation. The recent by-election in Caerphilly delivered a seat held by Labour since - well, forever - into the hands of one Lindsay Whittle of Plaid Cymru. A substantial news story. I watched it live and saw Mr Whittle, MS, interviewed by the BBC. There was a scramble to interview the candidate. Not Mr Whittle, but the candidate for the Reform Party which came a passably distant second. No one seemed much interested in the winner. Odd, but never mind. You're all professionals, I'm sure you know which way is up. Sky News has a flagship news programme on a Sunday morning hosted by Trevor Phillips, and surely, with this being a huge news story, it would feature substantially in the programme. And so it has. And so you have an interview. And the person you ask about it is Zia Yusuf. Of the Reform Party. On the understanding I'm just a not very bright member of your audience, can you please explain to me how that makes any sense at all? I'm trying my best to understand it, but I'm really stuck here. Looking forward to my political education from the experts, Pete Marchetto
I am getting seriously fucking annoyed with all this wall-to-wall Reform shit on the media now.

Some chatter that many traditional Welsh Tories (the type who are turning to Reform in England) voted Plaid in Caerphilly, so who knows what that means for Vale/Monmouth?
Can't speak for the NE, but Caerphilly and Merthyr were the Farage name-checks when talking potential Welsh wins. He's made a number of personal visits and Reform have clearly overresourced this by-election.
The Reform candidate not even giving a concession speech says it all. They were dumbstruck.

Plaid have won a massive victory in the Caerphilly by-election beating Reform comfortably.
The Labour vote has totally collapsed.
It seems that in Caerphilly more people feared those who oppose immigration than the immigrants themselves.
