Crowd at the rally. One sign says: Mayor, the size of the stadium matters.
I am buoyed by the community who stood in the cold to say they donโt support Lansdowne 2.0. Ottawa deserves better, and so do womenโs hockey fans. There is no stadium emergency. This plan is built on financial fiction and my grandkids will still be paying for it. I will vote no with my whole heart.

Lansdowne 2.0 is not what residents are telling us we need as a city. The cost is too much, the outcome too inadequate and uncertain, and the benefits accrue to too few. This morning's rally was energizing. We have an off-ramp; we should take it.

Absolutely: the city can lead or cave to the profit driven plan (profit that may never appear) to spend more and get less. Itโs on council to set the path and our future.

Work to begin on Laurier Avenue and Elgin Street bike lane redesign
Commuters can expect traffic disruptions at the intersection of Laurier Avenue and Elgin Street starting Tuesday as the city begins work to improve cycling and pedestrian safety at the intersection.
The Elgin and Laurier intersection is finally getting fixed. It should have happened years ago, after a cyclist was killed in 2019. And just this summer, Saloni Aitawadekar died after being hit by a pickup truck driver while she was crossing the street.

'Chaos and destruction': Chinatown businesses, residents say drug problems persist | CBC News
People in Ottawa's Chinatown say little has changed since a new safer supply clinic operator took over in June. Some are considering leaving the neighbourhood, and others already have.
A reminder that the Ford govt closed the supervised consumption site in Chinatown and refuses to approve injectable opioid agonist treatment for people with serious addictions. Right now, private addiction clinics are proliferating and the whole community is suffering.

Ugh. This is not a serious solution. Itโs one thing if the device destroys COโ (it wonโt), but if you have to collect a few kg of COโ from more than a billion cars, it ainโt gonna happen. Electric vehicles are fine. Stop trying to keep ICE around.
