Always - remember average speed cameras are just mean. Opinions and typos all my own. Sweary and challenging. #INTJ, FIRE.

This is very good indeed on how Mahmood talks about race. To suggest that immigration policy and racism are linked "reflects this governmentβs biggest failing, which is that it is essentially incapable of saying that racism is wrong, full stop".
19.11.2025 11:50 β π 310 π 95 π¬ 12 π 3Lovely review of Joe Sacco's latest

Everything is the fault of foreigners, everything can be fixed by penalising foreigners. To call them Little Englanders is generous and euphemistic.
18.11.2025 14:54 β π 614 π 121 π¬ 35 π 4Yes, who would have thought. If you adopt a bash-liberals strategy, liberal voters will vote for someone else. And despite what they think in No.10, liberal voters do actually exist.
18.11.2025 12:17 β π 610 π 123 π¬ 32 π 5Coverage of the refugee proposals demonstrates why we have such a broken political system. Endless focus on left-wing anger and right-wing support. Basically nothing on whether the reforms will work. They will not, which is why we'll still be here having the same debate in three years.

17.11.2025 13:09 β π 12943 π 3776 π¬ 805 π 388This document is the product of a broken administration, motivated by cynicism, immune to human decency, with a weak-to-non-existent understanding of the policy area they wish to legislate in.
17.11.2025 18:54 β π 488 π 115 π¬ 24 π 2Good on them.
17.11.2025 13:35 β π 617 π 78 π¬ 22 π 2Could prob accept some pretty draconian small boat policies if there was a genuine safe route policy alongside it. So far we have no details at all.
17.11.2025 10:44 β π 732 π 96 π¬ 42 π 11A week of chaos, cowardice and negligence: Labour has managed to pack so many failures into a single five day period that it's becoming difficult to remember all the details iandunt.substack.com/p/a-week-of-...

12.11.2025 15:12 β π 738 π 130 π¬ 71 π 9As you might imagine, this is very good. It is also very funny.
12.11.2025 13:09 β π 626 π 163 π¬ 39 π 5Keir Starmer has effectively started a leadership challenge against himself. To have entered into this kind of madhouse Westminster squabbling so soon after an election is simply unforgivable.

It's an obscene act of irresponsibility. Inward-looking, solipsistic, self-interested, playschool fucking bullshit.
12.11.2025 07:46 β π 291 π 42 π¬ 13 π 3The utter preposterousness of this interview. A media figure talking about BBC bias while describing the president as his "friend". A child could see trough it.
11.11.2025 08:39 β π 699 π 192 π¬ 24 π 2If that case is winnable, and there is good reason to believe it is, the BBC should fight it.
11.11.2025 08:35 β π 391 π 88 π¬ 49 π 4I'm not about to go up against Joshua Rozenberg on legal analysis, but his assessment on Radio 4 right now seems a bit odd. First, BBC player *isn't* available in Florida, is it? That's why you need a vpn to watch the Beeb there.
11.11.2025 08:15 β π 390 π 64 π¬ 36 π 3Whole fucking thing makes me sick to my stomach. An abject fucking liar, a man who lies as easily as he fucking breathes, threatening an organisation which strives for truthfulness. And plastic patriots like the Mail and Farage urging him on. Jackels.
11.11.2025 07:24 β π 2336 π 487 π¬ 89 π 26SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten.
"I don't think that we should allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking that the BBC is only any good, if it reflects the prejudice of the last person who shouted at it." ~AA
Ok President Trump, if you sue the BBC for $1bn for spreading lies, Iβll sue you for the same amount. I reckon Planet Earth would crowdfund that. Then Iβll buy Mar A Largo, turn it into a climate change research centre, free Melania, and put a 1000% tariff on orange face paint.
10.11.2025 19:29 β π 733 π 168 π¬ 15 π 4Yeah, this is a serious failing. Same as when Thatcher's pick, Marmaduke Hussey, forced out Alasdair Milne: hushed up, opaque, behind closed doors, secretive. This is a public body, using licence fee funds, operating according to the scrutiny of an elected government. It should be transparent.
10.11.2025 15:13 β π 353 π 67 π¬ 9 π 2Hassett: "The impact on the economy of the shutdown is far worse than we expected because it's gone on for so long. Goldman estimate it's over a percent or a percent & a half of GDP. I think we were thinking we were gonna have at least 3% growth in Q4. Now we're expecting something like half that."

10.11.2025 14:55 β π 9 π 8 π¬ 3 π 0Should Gibb be sacked? yes, obviously. He's an abomination of basic journalistic standards. His GB News channel spreads conspiracy theory & disinformation. His Jewish Chronicle newspaper spreads invented stories. He is plainly trying to undermine the BBC so it's as bad as everything else he touches.
10.11.2025 12:47 β π 2868 π 880 π¬ 61 π 20I mean, what kind of legal action would this be exactly? Defamation? I would truly love to see it. 'They made it look like I instigated a coup during my very well recorded coup attempt.'
10.11.2025 14:12 β π 886 π 223 π¬ 75 π 9What youβre witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.
This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.
iandunt.substack.com/p/extra-edit...
A good day to listen to our proud, joyous history of the BBC: One of the greatest British inventions of the 20th Century. An institution which, even at its worst, is far better than its detractors podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/t...
10.11.2025 11:02 β π 389 π 116 π¬ 14 π 4Just absolutely classic BBC. You've just broadcast the most successful programme of the year, uniting Gen Z kids online and Boomers on broadcast in a return to appointment television. And instead of celebrating, your DG reigns due to a made-up right-wing scandal.
