In his defense airplane boarding is terribly inefficient. Just another fake perk to make folks pay for.

the same kind of art as folks showing up at protest rallies in inflatable costumes

a little weird. a little silly. completely inexplicable to normies just like it should be.

and that probably impacts lifetime of hardware -- if water temperature or pressure isn't consistent you will have issues

but also water cooling involves water pumps and all this other shit that just weren't part of the deal for anyone learning about running a data center -- at least not to get water to individual racks

the HPC lab i was working at just couldn't do water cooling -- redesign and rebuild because the racks didn't support it the building didn't have the water where we needed it

obviously with a new build you don't deal with that

it has always been part of DC cooling but direct to chip stuff like what blackwell requires is a different architecture of racks and whatnot

full density blackwell pretty much required water cooling

and then you get into maintenance shit DC folks don't know

five years is the usual burn rate for any data center tech for several decades

i worry about burn rate for stuff like the blackwell architecture because so much of that was being sold (as of January of this year) as water cooling dependent

water cooling adds a new element

they were at close enough range to see that they were indeed aiming pepper balls at the Hot Priest

though any priest out there taking on the pepper balls to do their ministry is pretty hot

priests getting out there and fighting for the flock is very.good.actually

the Bezos Post is worse than the Washington Times

it's worse than WSJ

at least at WSJ there is a church and state boundary between op-ed and news that doesn't seem to exist at WaPo anymore

at least at the Washington Times you know what you're paying for

mainly trying to get at the rules of war which really aren't applicable in this context but that's what the Trump folks are claiming similar strikes in international waters fall under

launching a strike of any kind against an apartment vs. outside of the building is a huge escalation

09.10.2025 01:11 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

strikes on persons inside an apartment or a home are significantly more dangerous to innocent bystanders (regardless of the target's guilt or innocence)

that's why bombing homes to assassinate people has generally been considered a bad idea

If your online presence is solely ai boosterism I don’t see what benefit you bring to any conversation. There’s highly paid professionals doing that work.

Not a fan of brainless LLM boosterism considering these tools were built in part on stolen text written by my father and stolen art made by my daughter. They exist only to destroy the value of human creativity and folks pushing them uncritically at every available opportunity should be shunned.
